November 12, 2025Nov 12 Great so now I have to add Baltimore to my most hated list...sheesh it's growing

I wasn't expecting much from Alexander, but it would have at least been nice to see if he could have offered anything. His family are Eagles fans and live in the area so that makes this doubly weird. No I mean at first I was excited… I wanted him in the offseason so I was excited. Then I reflected on it and thought well there’s a reason he’s available for a low price and there’s a reason he hardly has played for Baltimore. But I was hopeful we could get something out of him.2 hours ago, time2rock said:Good point. Could be. Too bad he didn't bring this to everyone's attention when the deal was going down. For one it would have saved us a pick (even though it is a late rd pick it still has value). And secondly, we potentially could have made a deal before the trade deadline for a different CB that would not have bailed before playing a single down here.I think that’s where my frustration is yeah… that if we’d have known we could have made other moves etc. Instead we gave up a late round pick AND are going to have to go with the players we had before who aren’t good enough.1 hour ago, Bwestbrook36 said:What makes it confusing is that Alexander said he was excited and the healthiest he's ever been and was ready when the trade happened. Maybe he had a setback from where he thought he was and said to himself he can't do it anymore. After all this dude has only more than 7 games once in 5 seasons. It has to be mentally draining always hurt like that.I guess maybe a big indicator that he’s mentally not in a good place? To have been so up last week and now to this?
November 12, 2025Nov 12 I’m think these older player join the eagles hoping they’ll get an easy ride and realise it’s hard work being successful. Maybe Howie will stop doing these trades

But I guess with Alexander it could just be that he isn't right mentally (and physically...which is taking a toll mentally). He just might be coming to grips with his decline and isn't handling it well. The fact its happened twice and both times with ageing / injured players - I think the first one is more likely than the second. The team has established a winning culture, and it is likely they hold each other accountable and to a high standard.

Nobody is a bigger fan than I, but let's be honest, he does have a reputation...and both of these guys are defenders...No doubt he is demanding, and he is not giving these vets easy favours till they prove it on the field for this team. Will rub some established stars (or who see themselves as such) the wrong way, whilst other vets who take to him can flourish e.g. Baun.
