The blog has been the downfall of TATE bring back the good old days!

This section has always been for talking about the eagles yet when I go to the blog I have to sort through talk of all other sports, talk of the other team, drama between posters and other bs.

Make it happen! whistle

Go cry to @olsilverhair about it. He’s our state delegate

Start topics and try to get people to engage. Be the change you want to see in the world!

mods please move this thread to Rant & Rave! where it belongs. roll

Is a Blog anything like MySpace? I think I've heard of that before.

Or is it like an online diary? Word Salads and Verbal Diarrhea from Joe Schmoes who think they are VIPs?

Oh, IMO, quite a few of these EMB Forums should be shut down, shot into space, or be torched by an internet Flame Thrower!

groovy

I agree with the OP that having to sift through all the extraneous stuff in the blog, and even all the non-extraneous stuff that is mixed together in that one giant ugly blob of a blog, severely stints my participation on the site. I have no doubt it would absolutely be a better site for me without the blog. OTOH, I also know that for quite a handful of people that blog is a lifestyle choice. I've learned to live with it the way it is, even though I don't like it myself and wish it were different.

The old board had more people posting everywhere instead of just collectively in the blog thread. I do miss those days because we also lost a bunch of great posters from ATNFL

Those posters are gone. If I go post in ATNFL, it wont make it any better.

Yes. This is a discussion board. It sounds like you just want news without all the other discussion. There are other places to get that. But you are sure very welcomed to join the discussions if you choose.

The Blog does sometimes get on subjects I'm not overly interested in. I do a weird thing when that happens. I scroll past the posts discussing things I don't care to read about, and only read the posts about stuff I'm interested in.

I'm surprised you have that opinion

That thread will get congested with a ton of irrelevant topics that should be posted elsewhere (mainly ATNFL)

Plenty of times it'll be 10+ pages because everyone is posting about baseball, hockey, or non Eagles games. And you either have to go through them or just skip to the last page which could mean you missed out on something Eagles related

Tips to get us out of the blog.

1 - Post in the gameday. Like other people's posts in the gameday.

2 - Take part in conversations on the other threads.

3 - Start your own threads.

4 - Maybe keep posting in the Giants and DC threads and maybe start or resurrect a Cowboys thread.

The blog is fine but I'd like to have discussions outside of the blog. I doubt I am alone in this.

The only time I skip to the end is when I go back in after an Eagles game. I’m not gonna skim thru 30-50 or more pages of game commentary, so I’ll just go to the last page and start there. Sometimes if I do get 10 or more pages behind, I kinda welcome non Eagles stuff so I can scroll thru quicker lol.

I’m a very laid back type though. Not one to rock the boat. People can discuss whatever, and I’m not bothered.

Many times I just quickly scroll through looking for tweets not caring what anyone is saying.

It would be so much easier to just use Twitter and see the tweets automatically and yet I choose to go to the blog and speed scroll till I see a tweet.

These guys have and make the same choice, and then...complain?

I miss when everything wasn't in that thread 🤷‍♂️

I treat it pretty much the same way. I don't post in the blog everyday but, I'll scroll through some of it daily. I don't mind the side content some of it is fun, some of it is interesting and the rest of it I just simply scroll on through or just go to the last page and see what topics are being discussed at that moment.

I propose someone ban this stupid thread. The blog is where all of the action is on this board. Take it away and the board won't be the same.

It would if people posted in the other sections of the board. Like they did before

The blog is for ****ots

Nope. A lot of those blog posters would just stop coming and then there's even less activity.

By accident I found a very useful function of the EMB that makes participation in other TATE threads much easier. On a phone it is the button/icon at the left bottom of the screen … Unread Content. If a specific topic thread is started it appears there and keeps popping up to the top of the displayed list whenever someone adds a comment to it. When I started the Jordan Davis thread last week, it got a few hits, but mostly it was silent. If everyone agreed (not everyone, but you know what I mean) to use Unread Content and add comments to the interesting individual TATE threads, we could accomplish the OP’s goal and still have the Blog for the folks who want a broader discussion.
