Monday at 12:49 PM2 days So like I’m really excited by this… I think it’s a great addition at a position of need. But for those who know better how significant is this?

Monday at 12:55 PM2 days Did he play under Fangio in Miami? At least he won't have to learn a lot of the terminology or playbook

Monday at 01:00 PM2 days Injury history is concerning, but is still young and had success with Fangio until his injury. They'll need to figure out if they are gonna keep him after this year or it'll be half-year rental at the cost of a 3rd round pick. At least it's our own 3rd and not the one we have from the Jets.I like the move and will like it even better if Phillips produces AND is around next year.
Monday at 01:03 PM2 days I was never on the Miles Garrett trade bandwagon, so this isn’t disappointment off that speaking…I think this trade is a lopsided loss for the Eagles. This guy is a huge injury red flag, still hasn’t recovered his burst, is a half season rental, isn’t that good in the first place, and cost a 3rd round pick.I think he will seamlessly fit into the long line of Howie’s do-nothing-deadline deals.

Monday at 01:12 PM2 days Ambivalent about this one. I like that he has talent and is only what, 26 years old or so? I really don't like the injury history and giving up a 3rd rounder because of that. We'll have to watch n see what he does and if that bad leg can hold up.

Monday at 01:14 PM2 days Reports are that it's the Eagles' own third round pick - so they'll still have the Jets 3rd round pick from the Reddick trade and the comp pick for losing Milton Wms.

Will depend on how he plays.

That should explain the plan for after this year. We give up a 3rd next year knowing we'll get a similar (comp) pick later. Meanwhile, he helps the team for the remainder of the season.

I imagine he hopes Phillips will perform well enough to want to keep around after this year. We will be in the same position next year when it comes to Edge, so hopefully Phillips is worth keeping. But if not, yeah...he hits FA and garners us a comp pick.
Monday at 02:04 PM2 days Given the compensatory picks incoming from the offseason departures, a late 3rd round pick along with Miami eating most of the contract and his familiarity with Fangio, this isn’t the worst deal on paper. He may not ever have the burst again given the Achilles and ACL, but he still has the 4th highest amount of pressures out of 120 Edges in ‘25 (PFF). And sixth in the league with 17 solo tackles at Edge. Worst case: he gets injured again.Best case: he is game changer in the pass rush.Likely case: solid rotational piece that contributes in situational football.
Monday at 02:16 PM2 days I know we rotate our DEs and will continue to do so but… if healthy do we think he’s a starter? I think he probably is right?
