I didn't see eye to eye with him on many issues, but the man loved his country and stood for strong national security. In the end, he stood up for his country. God's speed Mr Vice President.

Dick Cheney, America’s most powerful modern vice president and chief architect of the "war on terror,” who helped lead the country into the ill-fated Iraq war on faulty assumptions, has died, according to a statement from his family. He was 84.

"His beloved wife of 61 years, Lynne, his daughters, Liz and Mary, and other family members were with him as he passed,” the family said, adding that he died due to complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease.

He was a tough old bird. RIP Mr. Vice President. Thank you for your service and speaking out against the buffoon currently residing in the White House. Will pray for mercy on your soul for the hard decisions made during your tenure. So many lost.

What a disaster for this country Cheney was. Responsible for two unnecessary wars. I'll give him a pass for the financial crisis. Still we haven't recovered from, and I don't know if we'll ever recover from the disaster that was the GW Bush administration.

Former President Joe Biden, a Democrat, attended Cheney’s funeral. So did five former vice presidents from both parties: Biden, Kamala Harris, Mike Pence, Al Gore and Dan Quayle. Democrats like liberal commentator Rachel Maddow were also seated in the cathedral.  

President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, on the other hand, were noticeably absent.

Weren't Trump and Vance not invited? Could they are should they have gone if they were not invited, since they are the sitting executives?

Invited? Since when do invitations need to go out for funerals? Damn, I went to way too many funerals without invitations then lol.

Meaning they were told not to come. Did I hear that wrong on the news? I'm genuinely asking, because wherever I heard it specifically mentioned that they were not invited to the funeral, as opposed to saying that they were not attending.
