For reference, the average ages of the founders at the time of the Declaration was 45, and the delegates to the constitutional convention averaged 45, as well.

Ben Franklin was the oldest at both, at 70 and 81 respectively.

While the life expectancy then was low, it was skewed due to childhood mortality. So long as one made it to adulthood, most lived into their 60s and 70s.

I used to be in favor, but the lack of term limits means a legislature that isnt professional, thus they're more influenced by lobbyists, and with a lack of experience, they defer more and more to the executive, which they already have done too much of.

Being in Congress must be one of the easiest jobs in the world, for so many people in their 80s to keep doing it and keep getting voted in
