Posted November 12Nov 12 I don't see it happening, if you look at our ppg this year to last, its only down 1 point. With that said, if there is a possibility, would it be far-fetched to bring in Daboll? He used to work with Hurts, he can actually call a good game offensively. Imagine him with our weapons.
November 12Nov 12 Not this season. If they were 2-7, then maybe.Like I said in another thread, this Offense has like 5 Corvettes in their garage that they can drive. And most games these said Vettes are stuck in the garage and can't even get out of Neutral. Why is that? Play calling, Execution, Injuries, Lack of Creativity, other stuff, etc..
November 12Nov 12 I can’t see it given we are 7-2 and have a great chance to go for the #1 seed. But I think that he should because this offense is underperforming and everyone can see that. Though I’m not sure id go Daboll he might get Hurts killed the way he was with Dart.
November 12Nov 12 Won't happen. If you start firing people when you are leading your conference who is going to take that job on? Perfection doesn't exist in the NFL.
November 12Nov 12 For some reason, KP just doesn't know how to use AJ in his scheme. Smitty has been having a solid season and has become the #1 WR. Dallas has been having a career year in terms of TD's, and Hurts is having his best year as a QB imo. It can't be that difficult to scheme plays for AJ to get him easy targets..

November 12Nov 12 Zero chance of an in-season OC change for a 7-2 team in contention for another championship. If this season ends prior to the NFCCG and the overwhelming vibe is that is was because of an inept offense, I think Howie will look at Sirianni in the offseason like:

Hurts probably could've hit AJ there if he just steps up and takes the hit from Micah, but we can see that AJ is wide open from our angle, but Jalen doesn't have the view we all have. Ntm he also felt the pressure from Micah there and decided to take off.
November 12Nov 12 Not a prayer, bringing in a new OC midseason would make everything worse.Best thing the Eagles could do is appoint a relationship counsellor for Hurts and AJ.

Hurts in most cases is smart about avoiding big hits like Dart is subjecting himself too. I mean sure there is designed runs but, that doesn't mean he has to run into the teeth of the defense going head first.
November 12Nov 12 Won't happen during the season, because look at what happened in 2023. But his a** should be GONE next year.
November 12Nov 12 One last thing I'd point out is Daboll isn't a great OC, he gets a ton of credit for Josh Allen, but Stefon Diggs did more for Josh Allen's numbers than Brian Daboll ever did, outside those years Daboll has been a below average OC and the Gina's got worse every year he was there. Steichen has demonstrated what a competent OC can do to get the most out of Daniel Jones, Daboll made him look godawful. TL:DR I wouldn't want Daboll near our OC position.
November 12Nov 12 Damn AJ was wiiiide open on that play. My best guess is that Hurts didn't see him or just couldn't get the throw to him because of the DLine pressure in his face. UGH. But, that's what the O should be doing, meaning, get AJ running those under the coverage crossing routes.
November 12Nov 12 Howie???Howie nor Nick nor Laurie would be ok with an OC change. The only change that could be made that is acceptable is the Head Coach takes over play calls. Since we don't have a creative head coach who can design and call plays. We have to wait until the offseason reviews for the possibility of an OC change. Nick isn't going to keep his staff from advancing.
November 12Nov 12 The overwhelming negativity should be reserved for teams like the Jets, Giants, Saints, etc not a 7-2 team. The offensive coordinator stinks, we can't run the ball, the offensive line isn't the same, defense is in the bottom half of turnovers BUT THEY'VE BEATEN 5 OF LAST YEAR'S PLAYOFF TEAMS - THE CHIEFS, RAMS, BUCS, PACKERS, AND VIKINGS
November 12Nov 12 They're not going to fire the OC, but it's not because of the record like everyone else keeps saying. Coordinators get fired from good teams all the time. It's because it's really hard to change play callers in season unless you know you have a better option in house. You can't just bring in someone from the outside that has no feel for the offense and expect them to be in-sync with the schemes right away. This isn't Madden. The fact that this seems to be a recurring theme leads me to believe that there's an ongoing power struggle that's never been fully resolved. I don't know if that's between Hurts and Sirianni or Sirianni and Howie or some combination, but it seems to me that whoever suggested Brian Johnson likely also suggested Kevin Patullo. Normally I'd recommend that we stop listening to that person, but it may not be that simple if it's someone with a lot of power. One of the costs of winning is that egos get inflated across the board and it gets harder to maintain uniformity at that top.
November 12Nov 12 Fire, no. Maybe bring in Daboll as a advisor type roll? See if he is willing to help KP get this offense rolling....

Its one of the worst in the league yet simultaneously has more talent on it than most of the league. That's unacceptable.

The defense was great against the packers. But its not good enough on the back end against the top tier offenses in the playoffs.

November 12Nov 12 At this point Hurts has a lot more trust in Devonta. It is what it is. And in close games against great defenses like the majority of games we played, the QB usually focuses more on his favorite most trusted target. Did everyone already forget that time Hurts forced three passes in a row to AJ? Yeah we lost that game. Maybe if later on in the season we played more suckass teams then the offense will open up for AJ.Btw imho Devonta is playing at an all-pro level right now.

There were a handful of other plays.Further, it has been well established that we run the most basic passing scheme the league. Other teams have no problem getting the ball to their #1 receiver, regardless of the coverage. We've had four different OCs, but only one QB. The offense is looking like the way Hurts wants it.Patullo needs to do better. No doubt. But don't be naive and think that the concepts being used by other teams should be and would work here.
