In regards to a lack of AUMF, by law POTUS has 48 hours to notify Congress upon military action and then has 60 days to get Congressional approval for any boots on the ground, and if Congress doesn't approve there's a 30 day withdrawal window after the first 60 day window.

The boat strikes are the murky waters, but this particular raid really isn't from a legal standpoint.

Still, kinda would be nice a POTUS in the last two decades actually did get an AUMF ahead of time for all the banana wars that have been going on.

Personally I will shed no tears over the raid and I think the world is a better place for it to have happened. I just wish there was someone competent calling the shots a la Operation Just Cause.

From what I’ve heard we had two injuries, though I haven’t heard details if these were from enemy fire or some kind of accident.

I very much doubt we told him we were coming. That’s basically the exact opposite of what a unit like Delta Force would want to do.

Probably because of the logistical support involved. Aircraft, helicopters, naval ships, maybe mid air refueling, etc.

You could have a relatively small force on the ground but it might take multiple times that number of people to actually carry out the operation, and certainly a lot of military assets.

I'm not saying we sent in a ton of troops. Dipsheet is trying to argue that Maduro went willingly and this was just a planned extradition. Which is very much counter to what Trump has said. Also counter to the multiple explosions visible in the videos.
