Why they didn't put him on IR seems ridiculous now. If he doesn't play this week, that would make 8 straight games missed. They could have used his roster spot for basically anyone.

I guess what they could be thinking is that...do they really need him this week against the 49ers? Their D isn't as good, Fred Johnson should be able to handle the duties again. Maybe they're trying to save him until we really need him...i.e., playing a good defense with good edge rushers. Either that or they really misjudged how long it would take him to recover. Lisfranc injuries are usually season-enders so I guess they diagnosed him as being a more mild type of sprain. Still a tough injury to recover from without the benefit of time...a lot of it.

There is a limit to how many players you can bring back from IR during a season. While players are on IR, they can't practice with the team either. I'm sure both of those were factors in the decision.

Now Schefty went on the radio today and said he'd be shocked if LJ didn't play. Baldy has been waffling. We shall see.

TBH I'd be surprised if he is good to go ... at least to go out and give 100% considering the injury and the fact that he needs to anchor against 250-300 lb rushers.

Sit him for one more week. I'd rather have Nakobe back for this game than Lane.

I know Lane wants to play. I believe he will. Fred is a solid back up. I am more concerned with Cam and Landon. They have had rough years. I don't know how much 2 weeks of rest will solve their issues. You have to hope the Eagles make the proper call. Id rather Toth be in if Cam is going to be more of a liability than an asset.

Season over. Eagles win% is crap without Lane. The refusal to draft a young, talented backup the last few years is a joke.

Reports are recently that Lane is out…. Not good..

Oh well. Gonna need a miracle now

If they were waiting to do any surgery, at least they can move forward with that now. The sooner, the better.

Lisfranc historically has always been a season-ender immediately. Not really sure what has been going on there other than hopium some miracle with allow him to play late in post season.

He knew they were losing today. Just didn’t want to waste his time.

I don't understand what was the whole thing with him practicing and then not playing at the last minute? I think that probably hurt the team mentally.

Still got paid, though.

Thanks for skipping today lane!

I dont want to see him back in 2026. Plz retire.

It really is time to get a legitimate replacement for Lane Johnson. No I don’t mean some late round pick on the roster the team hopes workout maybe. They need a high round pick to develop and take over soon, because Lane’s body just can’t hold up anymore.

I thought Fred played well actually… could he be a decent stop gap? Maybe Lane comes back for one more year and they keep Fred? But yeah they do need to find his replacement no doubt.

The problem was in the middle of that line and to the left. Mailata isn’t getting a lot of stick but he was not good this year. And every time we ran to the left yesterday it was shut down.

I think Fred is a good backup, but he and Steen together aren’t good enough. Their offense live as a whole took a major step back. Not sure what happened to Mialata. Landon and Cam came into the season hurt and never seemed right, Jordan just didn’t seem focused at all this year. Some of these guys need to get back into the lab and work on their games, because there were too many mental errors. Too many penalties and that was a lot on Steen and Fred. Lane’s body can’t hold up. Steen wasn’t good enough. Fred is a backup. Jordan regressed, and the other guys weren’t healthy. The offensive line has been a strength until this season.

Could have been the last we seen of Lane. Definitely need an investment in RT… I bring Fred back as insurance… have outside hope one of our late rd tackles from this past year can grow…. But think we need to pick a tackle in the first 3 rounds and/or offer a high round draft pick free agent that hasn’t put it together yet a prove it deal.

We need to draft several lineman early. We need to treat the OL the way the defense has been treated in the draft the past few years.
