I always thought DGunn was one of those plugged-in guys, but maybe he's just a rumor spreader for someone who doesn't like Hurts? Someone posted this from 2022...

DGunn used to be kinda plugged in, back when he worked for Comcast/NBS Sports Philly.

However, he did get laid off/RIFd from them a quite a few years back. So, IMO, he's not plugged in too much anymore, as he's now just a "content creator" for whatever media outlet will pay him.

I do feel sorry for him a bit. As his wife has/is going through some awful health issues.

Is it hard to say that both the OC and QB are under performing? Hurts isn't the one calling the plays and most of us here can predict the play they are about to run, so the other team who studies Hurts and the O, obviously know it too. We are 8-2 and people wanna dump on Hurts, until we lose a game directly bc of Hurts, just stfu and enjoy the wins which ever way they come. I don't care if Hurts is Trent Dilfer and gets us another SB. Just f'ing win!!!

Either way, Siri and Patullo get an F this year for the offense.

What works in this offense is Hurts running, Hurts/Saquon/DeVonta calling their own big plays, and jailbreak scramble drills that have noting to do with play calling or scheme.

Those spectacular plays and Hurts turning the ball over at less than half the league average, and the D are why they are 8-2 (9-1 if AJ was not a 💩)

We have no idea if Siri is a good offensive coach. We do know that when his OCs are bad so is he.

We know that he was good with Steichen on offense and that the players on D rose above Gannon. (KC ran the same uncovered TD pass 2x in the SB after most of us here said Gannon was an anchor)

We know that he was a mess in September last year and with Moore and Fangio in place both sides of the ball greatly improved.

We know Howie is one of the greatest GMs of all-time. Carter, Q, and DeJean transformed this franchise.

We know that Hurts has incredible efficiency stats and top 20 all times stats in TDs per game, TD to INT, passer rating, and so on.

We know that Hurts was able to thrive in an offense for 9 different OCs in the 9 years before this (or 8 in 9 if you chalk 2020 up to incomplete and learning)

As bad as Brian Johnson was (like zero answer for blitzing) they were still a top 10 offense because of talent.

He was an MVP candidate in 2023 through 11 games mostly on his ability and that of AJ, DeVonta, and the line.

He was 2nd in MVP voting in 2022.

He has 22 TDs and 3 turnovers in 2025 with a bad high school OC and offensive staff sabotaging him every week.

Saquon ran 26 times for 83

Bigsby ran 4 times for 34.

Thsi can only happen if your coaches are morons.

You love Saquon and he's a special boy? Give him 19 carries and Bigsby 11.

Note: This is not for every week, just the weeks that Saquon is getting stuffed for about 3 yards a carry.

Barry Switzer was 34-14 with 5 playoff wins. He was an idiot. Head Coaches almost never win games.

I can point to Belichick leaving Pete Carroll to panic and choke in the SB as a coach affecting an outcome but Browner and Butler still had to make the play.

I can find the opposite, like Pete Carroll icing the game losing FG vs the Falcons in 2012.

We heard fools spouting nonsense about Doug calling the Philly special so he should be MVP... Foles called it.

We heard about Siri and Moore calling the dagger. Hurts called it during the week and reminded them at halftime.

Coaches not players was a Tom Landry thing and it was a lie in the 1970s too.

Siri is owed a SB ring for winning and nothing more. He got a pile of money. You don't owe him the right to ruin your team's offense.

He is 2025's Gannon because Patullo is 100% his fault. The Eagles might win despite Siri but he's a massive weakness.

Slow and sad AJ is 1/10th the size of the problem that Siri is right now.

He deserves ZERO respect and patience because every single drop of good will he earned was spilled by letting his buddy destroy this offense.

He committed fraud on the franchise by giving power to a buffoon.

Tony Dungy was supposed to be this great coach and inspirational leader of men.

Both of his teams went to the Super Bowl the year after he left. He was 9-10 in the playoffs.

Dan Campbell was supposed to be this awesome leader. His OC is 7-3 and he is 6-4 and was a fool on Sunday.

This team is a great team on a roster talent level. No other team in the NFL is close.

Only Siri can stop a repeat.

I continue to struggle with why our offense is the way it is. I tend to lean more toward Sirianni because of his apparent overarching philosophy of keeping things "simple", focus on the fundamentals, don't turn the ball over, and just beat your man. In other words...just be a basic offense where your talent wins their matchups. And we are seeing what happens when the talent does not win their individual matchups.

On the other hand, I do wonder if Sirianni runs his offense like this because of Hurts' limitations...i.e., his offense is designed to mask Hurts' negatives and try to accentuate his positives without giving him too much complexity.

The truth is probably a mixture of both.

To be fair the positives have been on the defense and the negatives seem to always be on the offense

I think Derrick Gunn has fallen a long way. He lost his job, his wife has been very ill with high medical expenses and as a rsult he's chasing the "click". Admittedly he's been closer to the players and coaches than most over the years but I think now he's uning that access to n no good end for anyone but himself.

Consider this scenario. He talks to a receiver for 30 minutes and the player says "sure, sometimes I get frustrated when Jalen holds the ball". The sometimes disappears and it becomes that there is frustration in the locker room Not untrue but not exactly the contextual truth. The context and the whole truth doesn't matter to him anymore.

My take, that's what's happened here. Shamee on Derrick Gunn.
