What a stupic post. We have the best record in the league and won the Super Bowl in Fubruary.

I know!

Do you know what? This just isn’t fun anymore. This season is becoming hard work because of all the reports and the tweets and the noise. We have a 8-2 football team who have a chance to go back to the SB for which they are the reigning champions. This kind of historic run of winning won’t last forever and eventually we are going to be a bad team.

Everybody wants to knock the Eagles down because they are the team to beat. They are the team to beat because they are hard to beat.

Are the Eagles 2-8 or 8-2? Can’t tell from all the whining that’s been going on all week. Four games ago this guy has a perfect passer rating, the following week threw four touchdown passes, and no praise for it. The last two games two quarterbacks he went up against who supposedly are better him played worse than him and no one blames them. Meanwhile the guy at the top of the NFC is getting trashed everywhere. Sure wish we had Wentz back. I mean we would lose, but the stats junkies can cream their pants over those meaningless 300 yard games against a prevent defense.

The only reason the Eagles are not 30th in yards and 24th in points is Hurts, AJ, DeVonta, and Saquon making up their own plays or running scramble drills outside the brain dead OC offense.

Why isn’t the run game getting more criticism? The Eagles gave the ball to Barkley 26 times on runs and he got 83 yards. This is a run first team and the runs aren’t there. Why has the team completely turned away from the RPO when it’s obvious those plays turned mediocre backs like Sanders and Swift into 1000 plus yard backs and turned Barkley into a 2000 yard back? Why is it all of the pass routes look and feel pedestrian? Why is it we can’t seem to scheme anyone open other than Goedert on that one play where they fake to the back and dump it off to him in the flat? Why can’t we run some bootlegs or roll out plays? Why does everything feel so basic? Why is the only person getting any criticism (on an 8-2 football team mind you) is the quarterback?

Fans don't critique players or coaches, they simply choose whom they like or dislike and criticize their favorite targets at every opportunity. To be fair, there's no shortage of KP hate and threads dedicated to criticizing Hunt, Smith, Brown, Davis, etc... You don't have to go far to find a negative discussion about 94% of the team.

I get the frustration side of all of this. It’s been choppy, but there are a lot of factors as to why things are the way that they are. Frankly I’m not absolving Hurts, KP, or anyone else for that matter from some of the blame, but this team is 8-2 and they have afforded themselves the opportunity to work to get right. It’s Dallas week and the media is crying about a team that’s 8-2. At this point if a player, coach, media, or fan can’t get excited for being 8-2 while still accepting that this team needs to work to improve without acting like the sky is falling then maybe they shouldn’t be here. I get this attitude when the team is bad, but apparently (according to some) the worst team in the NFL is apparently the best team in the NFC.

It's only not fun if you pay attention to the noise. Tune it out and enjoy the wins, even if they are hard fought (i.e. "not pretty"). It'll become not fun if we aren't winning any more.

As I have been saying all along, the injuries to the OL are the biggest culprit to the underwhelming running game. And the OC lacks any kind of advanced thinking/creativity to properly design an offense - the scheme is very basic. If Jalen is, at times, going rogue and running his own plays (which I think could be true some of the time but not as extensive as some people are trying to make it out to be), it is because he knows the play calling stinks. He was fine under Moore. He didn't all of the sudden forget how to be a good QB. Such ridiculous takes.

Such a weird season that feels similar to 2023 as a fan in that we're winning, but there is something "bad enough" to legit complain about. I always enjoy winning (duh), but I guess it's also that there are high expectations again so everything is more under the microscope and imperfections highlighted and analyzed. If this team was 4-13 last year and haven't had a winning season in a while...one of those "up and coming" teams, we'd be looking at this team like "Super Bowlzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!"

Perspective, I suppose.

Overall as you’re stating also there is more going on here than just one player. There’s lots of factors. Let’s also not forget if going back to back to the SB were easy then more teams would do it. At a time we are getting other teams best, we are straddled once again with a new play caller. On top of that the league actively has it out for the Eagles due to the tush push, and they have been given a ridiculously difficult schedule. There’s just so much going against this team, and yet they’re still 8-2. I like Sirianni’s quote of sometime you, sometimes me, always us. Some of the people in that locker room need to remember that.

Oh I definitely do not disagree that there are legit concerns and there shouldn't be any reason we can't acknowledge them and discuss. I remember that same feeling in 2023 where, even though we were winning, many of us had that gut feeling that things looked like some of those issues could come back and bite us in the arse (and others were saying be quiet because we're winning ... I'm definitely not doing that) ... and sure enough they did. Those were issues we were seeing with our own eyes and acknowledging. I'm talking about the "rumors" of Jalen going rogue and running his own plays or Brown/others not happy with him because he refuses to throw the ball into tight windows to avoid INTs, etc.

WEAPONZZZ!!!! (Just looking at Fantasy points)

Stafford is 5th in fantasy league points with like 203.5

Hurts at 6th has about 202.2

Lets look at the rest of the rosters.

Puka and Adams are the only WRs on the same team both in the top 10.

Kyren Williams is 8th

Hurts has Goedert in 7th for TE, that's it.

Stafford's 2025 WEAPONS are far more productive on the field this year. (with a far easier schedule)

Hurts 2025 is 99.5% of Stafford 2025 with less against tougher competition.

That's with Patullo and Calcatera working for the other team through incompetence.

Oh I know what you were getting at. It just got me thinking about overall "enjoying" this season as a whole. I mean, yeah, we're 8-2 and control our own destiny to the #1 seed. Defense has been playing awesome and Special Teams have been really solid. Other teams' fanbases would kill to be in our position.

Trying to enjoy the ride because at some point in the future we could be looking back at this timeframe as "the good ole days", lol. Though Howie and Lurie have really done a masterful job of keeping this team competitive most years. And if we have a down year...it's a down year (singular use of the word "year" here, lol), and they get us right back in the mix.

All that said, I still can't help but watch this offense every week and feel like "this is what's gonna hold us back from experiencing a repeat championship".

Would be interesting if the situation happened again

Yes

Though I feel like both wouldn't happen if the media didn't harp on it so much. Anything for clicks and views

There’s no doubt Jalen is held to a different standard in the league than the other top QBs. I’m not seeing a national media hunt for Allen today? Yet he threw 2 picks yesterday and his team lost their 4th game of the year! This is the same Bills team who were undefeated for as long as we were so they’ve lost 4 of the last 8 or something?

I’m seeing on social medial people saying Superman can’t do it alone. It always seems like for the national media it’s never the fault of Allen. If Jalen got sacked 8 times and threw two picks, he would be blamed for all of it. I mean the Eagles are winning and they’re comparing this to the Wentz situation. Wentz was jealous of the success of the team without him and hurt the team for his own personal gain. Most importantly they lost. Jalen’s out here consistently winning football games and people are outraged. It’s insane to me.

I am sick of reading about it, so I no longer do. 8-2- whoever is complaining better be complaining about Kevin Patullo. Keep you mouth SHUT about any players- you are a F_ing team.

On the radio I hear this morning they believe the Eagles will win, and they expect the offense to perform well, but if they don’t (regardless if they win) they will trash the offense. The next moment they expect the offense to perform well, they add the caveat, but it’s the Cowboys. So they can’t win in that scenario regardless. A caller then points out all of the injuries on the offensive line and basically how they have dealt with it all season and then the caller asked what can the Eagles do about it, because it’s clearly causing issues in particular with the offensive line? The host then didn’t put the blame on the coaching staff, he said it’s on Jalen Hurts. He then proceeded to run down all of the perceived deficiencies of Jalen Hurts, but still expected him to overcome all of these issues. So you claim that Jalen isn’t capable of overcoming the issues, because he’s not talented enough while expecting him to do so, while never mentioning his rookie play caller who is calling the plays that end up being first down losses or some stupid pass to the flat. He also went on to say elite quarterbacks can overcome the deficiencies of the offensive line (this is three injuries on the Eagles offensive line and a first year starter BTW) which is interesting considering everyone in the league and media tell me that Josh Allen is the best of the best while he lost to the Texans with a backup quarterback. The irony here is the Eagles ARE OVERCOMING THESE CHALLENGES, BECAUSE THEY LEAD THE NFC RIGHT NOW. Seriously Philly media is garbage.

Hurts is held to a different standard to other QBs. I think the only other QB held to a similar standard is Lamar. Is Hurts perfect? No. Does he have some clear faults and limitations? Yes. Is that true of all QBs (in fact players)? Yes. Does he have the natural talent and arm that someone like Allen has? No. But he turns it over a lot less and gives the team opportunities to get the win.

The passing offense has been the same this year as it was last. Do I think Patullo has done a good job? Absolutely not. Do I think he’s calling a very simplistic offense? I do yeah. I think the route tree shows that. But the biggest difference is the run game. The biggest difference is the OL is not even good and probably not even average (for various reasons). That and the drive killing penalties are holding this offense back from being good to average. Sort those things and this team is going to win games more comfortably whilst that defense is playing at an elite level.
