I'd also add that this should most certainly should be an outside hire ... don't give us the "Loeffler has been promoted to OC" BS where he'll basically be running the same flawed scheme. Need someone from outside the Sirianni umbrella completely to bring in fresh ideas and who can maximize the talent he has at his disposal. Sirianni and Patullo got far less from more talent than anyone I have ever seen. People like Shanahan get more out of less.

Leave Nick out of the hiring. Let him sit in and be supportive Nick but Howie needs to make this call. We need a guy that can maximize the talent, and push Jalen to be his MVR caliber self.

Glad he was removed. He clearly was not ready for the job. He like the 16 year old kid that got his license and took a championship tuned Ferrari and drive it into a ditch the first time he took it out. Highly unqualified for the job. But they didn’t have a choice because they waited too long last season to work on finding the OC. He got it by default.

What they need is a veteran OC with experience running a variety of styles and getting the most out of his qb regardless of style of qb. We can’t just find a guy who can work with Jalen only because let’s face it, Jalen’s time here is almost up too. History tells us that. So in 2 years he’ll have a new qb to work with. A masterful coach can work with whatever he has. That’s the guy we need. Who that is, I’m not sure yet.

Siri, you are next!

Doofus #1 removed, now lets get Doofus #2 removed!!

rock

I was kinda kidding. As I know Siri is here for at least 2 more years, IMO.

I hate to see people lose their jobs. But it obviously wasn't working with KP, and it never got fixed/corrected. Even with all of the talent on O.

I wonder if more O Coaches get let go??

That would depend on who the OC is and if they want to bring in their own guys. I can’t see KP sticking around, that would be too awkward and probably cause more ripple effect issues. I think you gotta go clean slate and hire an experienced OC that can maximize the talent we have as it’s plenty. And then you also have to make sure this guy is able to pivot in 2-3 years when Jalen isn’t renewed or extended. It would be a mistake to bring in a guy who is system oriented and try to square peg his offense into the round hole of Jalen. I love him but we know his limitations as a qb. The guy everyone seems to be talking about is Monken from the ravens. Lamar did well in his run heavy, throw to only one WR and the TEs style offense. But do we have the RB to carry that load? Probably not. Would also cause more strife with AJ if he’s still here. But he’s 59 and probably not looking to be a HC so it would be a good fit from that perspective.

and then there is plan C - chaos! Blow it all up and fire nick tomorrow, hire Harbaugh and rebuild it all. Maybe he even brings monken with him anyway.

Well. All the inside leaks point to Hurts. The most recent one from Lesean. But regardless Siri is still incompetent, and KP still needed to be fired.

What I don't get this this. There were many examples this season where the Eagles looked good. You would see the first half and they would be under center and using the run and PA and I am like "two games now of this it looks good enough to become their identity". Hurts had ZERO problems playing under center as I observed on the field and said publicly he is totally good with it. Then it disappears. Gone.

Same with the QB run game. It would show up and then disappear. Same with the QB empty tempo game. It would show up and disappear. Literally the only thing all season that DIDNT show up and disappear was the 4 verts with inside zone run game. Literally the ONE thing that wasn't working for crap.

So Hurts can run the stuff when its called just fine at a high level. That's what I see when it would show up. Do you think Hurts is changing the plays at the line constantly back to 4 verts and inside zone? Everything I just described is heavily on coaching IMO.

The perfect example of the entire season is the last play of the season in the playoff game. They take a precious timeout and go huddle and come out with 4 verts. That's the best call. The irony is it would have better if the outside had converted to hitches so he had another option. If Hurts is absolutely perfect (or the WR/TEs routes are just a bit more perfect) they get a completion there anyways. But they have to be perfect to get the 4th and 11? That's the BEST call? PERFECT? Ugh.

Eagles would have lost to the Rams last year in that playoff game if Stafford had been perfect. Let that sync in.

No QBs are perfect. Hurts isnt either. I want a Fing answer now. A full season of forcing Hurts to grow. I don't care if it comes with more risk. Make him grow or show he can't and move on. No more constipated offense if its him. Done. (I just don't think based on what I have seen so far that its him as root cause).

Stop being a little ****h and worrying about Patullo's feelings. You obviously don't know how the real world works.

back at you - you obviously never worked as a leader. Get out of your mom's basement.

so what, the nfl is harsh, perform or pack your bags, that's life in the league and it doesn't take someone inside the organization to know that. he failed and you don't reward failure, or you become the browns or jets.

So you're another guy who's never been a leader. Small people usually think small thoughts about others.

This didn’t stay pinned long. lol

Thought this thread was going to blow TF up after KP was fired but I guess everyone pretty much expected it.

Not really - the other guy keeps pushing to outright fire a guy who was promoted to his level of incompetence by the leaders in the organization. That guy has been a loyal employee, had been successful until the organizaton promoted him, and is very popular within the team and coaches. He was responding to my original post that moving him from oc to another role within the organization was the right thing to do.

i don't think outright firing him is the right thing to do , but Mr. Basement kept writing as Mr. Hardass.

I probably shouldn't have gotten personal with him, but his comments don't suggest he's ever led an organizaiton,

He can't come back. Why would he want to? What would he do? Who would listen to anything that he has to say??

I'd pick the positivity rabbit for assistant to the regional manager over Patullo.

Sean McDermott fired, I wanted Daboll as OC, but wouldn't be surprised if Bills go after him. I guess welcome to Philly McDaniels.

Do we know yet if he was just transitioned to another position in the organization?

I would hate to be the OC for this team. The next OC will have to run a high school level offense just like Patullo cause Hurts can't run anything more complex.

OC’s for this team have two outcomes. Fired or a HC job. No in between.
