Kinda anti-climactic, but solid overall

It was ddecent enough. A typical GoT ending where all the good stuff happens in the penultimate episode and the last one is just kind of there closing up plot points. Overall, just been good to enjoy a TV series

Pretty underwhelming season finale. Also changed what happened

They agreed to let Egg travel with him. His dad told him to keep his head shaved or dye it to stay hidden. Also gave him his ring for emergencies. Guess the showrunners thought Egg sneaking away was more humorous

Speculation I’ve seen is that he and Egg had an agreement. But his brother just died (at his hand, unfortunately) so sending your youngest off to leave the peasant life would not be looked on too kindly by everyone else. But a son who "ran away” after that was a town-wide event within the past week would be much easier to "sell”.

They purposely showed the ring on his hand as he was talking to Dunk and then he wasn't wearing it in the final scene.

I'm betting they will start Season 2 with a scene showing Maekar and Egg talking after he tried to kill his brother and giving him permission to go on the road with Dunk. In the book he gives him his ring to use to prove he's a Targaryn if he gets into trouble
