I agree with most of what the OP posted. I also thought sitting Jurgens would be the right move. He clearly isn't 100%. I'd rather him rest to get healthy ... he'd be much more valuable to us being closer to 100% come playoff time than what we are seeing now.

Also, pull some of the plays out of Moore's playbook that we were running last year. He may not be here but that doesn't mean we can't continue to use some of those plays.

Oh and regarding Blank:

Please no Sydney Brown. I'd rather just run 10 men.

STOUTLAND SUCKS, HE SHOULD BE FIRED TOO!!! OUR OLINE IS SWISS CHEESE AND WE HAVE NO RUN GAME!!

I'd like to add cutting Gipson and elevating Covey. Gipson was a fumble waiting to happen all season and it finally did.

At least Blankenship looks like he'll play. But...with Sydney Brown? Oof. We could sign Justin Simmons at 2:30pm on Friday and start him and he'd play better. If Brown is our ROS starter, we're gonna be in a lot more trouble in the backend. They'd be better off just blitzing him every play vs. playing him in coverage. Let's see if they elevate Andre Sam on Friday.

To be honest I think the next 6 games are just about surviving and getting 3-4 wins… Honestly with the injuries we have in the secondary and the offensive issues I can’t see us getting more than 3 more wins. I hope Im wrong but those games are not super easy.

Their last 6 games are all winnable...and losable, based on how they've been playing. If they can somehow pull it off and win out...and the Rams drop 1...getting the bye would be invaluable.

Of course, that's most likely wishful thinking at this point.

Agreed on Gipson/Covey. Gipson’s career fumble rate is ridiculously high … don’t know WTF Howie was thinking there.

In his most recent presser Vic talked about Carter being able to play S in addition to NCB. I’d sooner see DeJean stay at NCB with Bennett getting a look outside opposite Mitchell with Blank and Carter at S.

I don't think Carter has played much safety in his career has he? Even still, think I'd rather see that than Brown. Brown is a good ST'er, but he really does stink in coverage on D. Agree about Bennett...seems unlikely Jackson will play.

Speaking of Jackson …

It can't be fixed with Patullo here. Period. Do the same things over and over and expect different results? NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
In the draft- rebuild the o_line. By the way, the QB coach, the TE or ANY offense coach could probably run the offense better that Patullo.

On offense it starts with the line. Rest up as many of the starters that need it, especially Jurgens. The line clearly needs help so go with an extra guy at times. Playcalling needs to reflect those struggles, so more misdirection, more quick passes.

Spell in Bigsby for Saquon more frequently and keep him a bit fresher.

Get Smitty and AJ in space and let them beat a man or two.

Let Hurts loosen up a bit and take more shots down field. Let him call a couple of drives himself and see how he goes.

On defense they will be better if the offense improves. More rest, fewer back to back drives. Rotate the front four, get creative with pressure.

Lock Q on the top WR, don't play Coop outside. If Blank is hurt, rest him. We aren't going to get the one seed so priority is getting healthy for the playoffs.

We aren't changing coordinators at this point, and we can't trade, so we have to work with what we have.

I agree and I think at this point this is probably our only hope that this will get better? Like the play calling is that it is and they aren’t going to fire KP. Hurts is who he is no matter which side we sit on. But the OL is the one that’s regressed the most and partly due to health so there’s hope there. I think they can improve and they can clean up the penalties (though so far they’ve shown no sign of doing so).

Not sure who has the final say here or what is going on behind the scenes but they absolutely screwed up on the O-line this season. Cam Jurgens , and Dickerson should have never gone into the season as starters with their injuries. They should have been given time to rest and recover and instead we are forcing them to play. For what? They are useless out there anyway.

If cam was this injured going into the season that he can barely play how hell was this not addressed before the season started?

^^^^^^

Siri said this week that if players can play, then they are going to play. Whether they are 60% or 90%. Also said that the players work extremely hard to get ready to play each week. So, the Medical Staff clears the players as "playable", Siri/Howie/Coaches, put them out there.

With that said, I agree with you. That they are pretty much dog crap out there, especially with the Running Game blocking. Toth probably should have been playing Center all season. Jurgens is AWFUL.

Since I mentioned Gipson’s career fumble rate earlier but didn’t back it up with any stats at that time:

I guess the question is how could they have addressed it? Plenty of teams don’t have good starters let alone back ups? The big one was Becton and I guess that would have given them a bit more flexibility? But I think really it just comes down to it is one of those years and maybe this year we just aren’t good enough?

Why does everyone say we can't compete with the Rams we have beaten them every year for like the last 10 yrs regular season and post season including this season

Right now I’m not so sure if this team can compete with the Raiders. Now that they got rid of that idiot Chip Kelly they might actually have a chance.

I think the system is as big of an issue as the plycalling. This pedestrian offense with little to no scheming other than fake handoff pass to the flat to Goedert ( by the way it’s gotten so bad that they’re trying to scheme other players into the same play) and slam the ball up the middle with Barkley isn’t going to improve by just replacing KP. This team needs a new offensive philosophy. The Bears ran schemes that simply out played the Eagles. They couldn’t adjust to the movement. They ran plays off other plays. The Eagles ran little to no plays off one another. The offense couldn’t stay on the field long enough for it to matter.

Well, obviously after yesterday I no longer feel this way lol

There is no fixing this team. The only fix is the season ending.

I hear you, but.... Everything you just said points to a NEW OC. You just stated every reason they need a new OC. You think Patullo is suddenly going to come up with a "new offensive philosophy???"
THATS the whole issue and why they only way to GET a new offensive philosophy is to get a NEW OC.

I don’t think a new OC implementing a new offense right now fixes anything. The only person who can be that person right now is Sirianni and frankly I don’t think you will see a great difference. I think the owner or Howie will have to force Nick to hire someone else. That won’t happen until the offseason.

Call Howie on the Carpet

Fire Head Coach

Fire Offensive Coordinator

Trade Jalen Hurts

Trade AJ Brown

Rebuild OLine

Get a real offensive minded head coach who can bring in an actual creative scheme to get AJ, Smitty and Saquan the ball in space.

Rebuild the offensive line.

That’s literally it. The rest will fall into place.

Not sure how accurate this is but Oline Pass Protection does not seam to be a problem if its even close to accurate. The eye test it seams like he has a nice pocket on most plays. Ive actually seen Hurts many time roll out of a clean pocket for no reason.

Now running lanes are a different story, but I still believe teams are scheming to stop Barkey as a first priority. Most say you run to get the pass game going, with this team and the defensive strategy against us it is the complete oppt. So until Hurts and this passing game get rolling, the run game will cont. to struggle.
