Posted December 16, 2025Dec 16 Commanders are sitting down Daniels for the remaining games, and it will be Mariota.Knowing that, ....the question is who can we sit down and rest???There are some players who we could rest, but ....The most important player being Jalen Hurts. Should we take Hurts out for several games???To me...It seems that a few games of rest for Hurts might give Eagles a better chance in the playoffs.
December 16, 2025Dec 16 I wouldn't sit the starters unless a) the playoffs are locked up, and the seedings are virtually locked up. It is highly unlikely the Eagles get the one, and probably unlikely they get the 2 seed. First thing to do is lock up a victory against the Commanders as soon as possible and rest the starters. If statistically there's no chance to lose the 3rd seed or gain the 1st or 2nd then I rest the starters by Buffalo.
December 16, 2025Dec 16 1st we have to actually lock up the division. Then, we still have a shot at the 2 seed (and a very slim shot at the 1 seed). The Bears are who we're battling for the 2nd seed right now and they have somewhat of a murder's row for their last 3 opponents: GB, SF, Det. If they drop 2 of those 3...which there's a realistic chance they do...and we win out, we get the 2 seed. I'd prefer to be the highest seed possible because, just like last year, if the 1 seed loses in the divisional round then we get HFA for the NFCCG again. Of course, that means we'd need to, you know...win out and win 2 playoff games first. In any case, we shouldn't rest starters until we know our seeding is locked in.

We don’t rest starters until the division is locked up and our seeding is confirmed.Ideally we want the Pack to beat the Bears and then we are only one behind. If we beat Commanders and lose to Bills, we are likely locked into 3 seed and can rest starters for second Commanders game.
December 16, 2025Dec 16 100 percent. Finish the job then rest and get an healthy as possible. I say we lock of the division then can start sitting players.
December 16, 2025Dec 16 We only have a few games you want Hurts to sit the rest of the regular season when we don't even have the playoffs locked up? Have to do that first
December 16, 2025Dec 16 Author Anything can happen at any time, but with probably one more win guaranteeing us the division.I am debating if chasing second seed is worth the risk.See Patrick Mahomes.

Everyone else needs to be ready to go as I may play starters a limited amount just to avoid rust.
December 18, 2025Dec 18 Eagles still have a chance for the second seed so i would not rest starters for this reason. Then with the way this season played out till now nothing is absolutely garantee. Eagles are only 2-2 in the NFC east. I would not be surprise if the tie with Commanders. They will be really motivate to beat us after that beat down they received in the NFC championchip last year. We will see

December 19, 2025Dec 19 In 2022, we only needed to win 1 of the final 3 games to get the #1 seed, so we rested Jalen (shoulder) for the next two --- both losses and had to start him to win the season finale.

This year it caught up to them big time.

December 22, 2025Dec 22 At this point the 1 and 2 seeds are long shots, but I think they still need to at least try to play against the Bills, but I wouldn’t be so eager to put any dinged up players out there or players returning from injury.
December 22, 2025Dec 22 Here is the 1 seed scenario:Wk16: Colts beat 49ers tonight.Wk17: Eagles beat Bills. Bears beat 49ers. Panthers beat Seahawks.Wk18: Eagles beat Commies. Lions beat Bears. 49ers beat Seahawks.and the Rams lose to either the Falcons in week 17 or the Cardinals in week 18.Here is the 2 seed scenario:Beat Bills and Commies while Bears lose to 49ers and Lions (+ a few other thin scenarios involving other teams tied with the Eagles and Bears). Here is the 4 seed scenario:Lose to Bills and Commies while Panthers beat the Bucs and Seahawks.
