Looking like Eagles against Niners or Rams at the Linc again in the Wild Card game

Absent a miracle at this point, Eagles will likely be the number 3 seed. The playoff bracket has the Eagles at no. 3 and the Niners at no. 6 before Monday night. After the Niners win on Monday and the Rams loss to Seattle, the Niners leapfrog past the Rams in the Wild Card seeing. If this seeding holds up after the end of the regular season, the Rams, not the Niners, will be coming to the Linc for the Wild Card. Should be a doozie if that happens. If the Eagles and Bears both win their Wild Card games, the Eagles would play the Divisional Round game in Chicago.

The Bears are up a game and hold the tiebreaker but they aren't locked into the 2 seed (yet). They have 2 tough games coming up against SF and Detroit. We would need to win out (tough task ... Buffalo is going to be difficult - the Bills are also fighting for playoff seeding and the AFCE crown (they are only 1 game back of NE). If we were to win out we would need the Bears to lose out to get that 2 seed. Soooo, does seem unlikely we improve our seeding position and I would lean toward resting those starters that have been trying to play through nagging injuries (Dickerson, Jurgens, Johnson, and can now add Dean to that list) with the hopes they get as close to 100% possible for the playoffs.

No matter who the Eagles play. Those playoffs will not be easy whoever Eagles play. The NFC is really really good

brock’s ucl don’t want it

All the wild card teams are pretty good. Feels like a one and done type of season regardless of who it is.

I live in Niner country so I really don't want us to play them. I'd be fine with just about anyone else

Would relish this matchup. Not sure how they’ve managed to win this many games. Nothing they do offensively would be a threat to our defense. And if the offense continues to make strides, we will have no issues with their depleted defense

I’m kind of torn on whether I want to face the Niners. On paper it looks like perhaps the easiest match up we could have. But losing to the Niners (IF that were to happen) would hurt way too much. I hate the Niners, I hate them nearly as much as I hate Dallas (both recent history and a former friend who’s a Niners fan). And losing to Purdy? The most overhyped and overrated QB purely based on where he was drafted. No that wouldn’t be good and would end a rather unenjoyable season.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think if the 49ers win tonight, they will bump to the 5 seed and the Rams would be the 6 seed. I'd rather play the 49ers than the Rams.

It definitely seems we will be playing one of the NFC West teams for sure. Maybe the impossible will happen and the Eagles win out, Chicago loses out, we get the 2 seed.

As always, half of the wildcard teams will be one and done.

There are no easy games in this playoffs. I could see anyone (except the Panthers) who makes the playoffs as a team that could win it all. I do agree that I’d rather face the 49ers than the Rams.

Ending the Rams season and hearing them make (even more) excuses would be glorious, though.

The NFC West is crazy. If the 49ers win out they’ll be the #1 seed in the playoffs.

The most likely scenario is 49ers/Rams Wildcard weekend, go to Seattle for the Divisional Round, then a rematch with the Bears.

If the Bucs beat the Bears, then the would have a home playoff game in the Divisional Round.

The game will be Home. But, I don't like the matchup. It is what it is. They need to be slayed.

Looking forward to it. I'd love to play the 49ers in the first round.

Looks like now it could be the Rams. 49ers loved in front of the Rams. Would not necessary the best matchup for our birds but it is like it is

Currently Rams most likely

Its a potential matchup in Chicago that worries me the most...

Yep Rams now in current playoff bracket. And that is likely to change again over the next 2 weeks.

Crazy thought, but let’s just beat whoever is in front of us and go from there. Playing the 2008 Lions three straight weeks and facing the 2017 Browns in the Super Bowl would be fun but it’s not realistic. Gonna have to beat good teams to win another championship.

I never understood the whining and crying over teams that we might have to play because if we lose to that team it will hurt their feelings lol. Wouldn't you want to face those teams and beat them? People want a cake walk to the super bowl and then cry when other teams fans say we had an easy path to the super bowl.

And doing so just makes it that much sweeter. We took down TWO dynasties … can’t get any better than that!

The NFC seems extremely tough this season.

I'm a scared little puppy, so I fear every team.

Like with DOOM, the Eagles are not locked in there with them, those other teams are locked in with the Eagles.

I'm just not feeling it this season. The Offense drives me nuts with their inconsistency. I do not see them winning a slugfest/shootout with LA/Seattle/San Fran.

But what do I know. Nothing. 🤓

A shootout I agree. A slug fest may be our best chance at advancing. Our defense can keep us in a game against anyone in the NFC playoff field. The offense needs to not turn the ball over, and avoid 3 and outs for quarters or full halves of games.
