January 7Jan 7 Crazy as it may sound, no. If Siri is going to be replaced, I’d prefer an offensive minded coach who can provide stability in the offense.
January 7Jan 7 No. Harbaugh is a fine coach but I can't help but think he should have achieved more in Baltimore

January 7Jan 7 Quite simply, no. Harbaugh has the longevity in Baltimore but Sirianni has basically achieved as much in less time right? Neither are offensive HCs in the way that the top HCs in the NFL are. Neither call plays. Harbaugh would put us in the very exact same position as Sirianni.

If you have absolutely no one on the staff who can do it, that's a big problem, or if you have someone as awful as Patullo. But a lot more important is making sure you have the right plays actually installed into the playbook in the offseason, and making sure you have the right things included in the game plan on gameday. You may not have heard this before, but people don't choose plays from the entire playbook when making calls, it's a subset of the playbook most of the time. Therefore, if your game plan doesn't have the right plays in the subset, or your playbook of installs during the offseason is wrong, your play caller is going to fall in quality anyway. It's overrated, and not only is it overrated, the worst scenario is not having a head coach that doesn't call plays, it's having a head coach that can't, but thinks he can. (Hi Dan Campbell). We'll see if he gets better at it though.
January 8Jan 8 There is the "what we'd want" and then there is the "what Howie/Lurie want" (and would do). Would I want Harbaugh? No. Would Howie/Lurie? Yeah, probably.Howie/Lurie (maybe we call them 2 "Howrie" in the same vein as Siritullo?) have seemingly shifted to an organizational philosophy of hiring head coaches who will not demand any control over anything above coaching duties. Pederson and Sirianni were basically unheralded coaches the hired and Howie did the main work of giving them the talent to succeed. If any potential HC candidate makes it seem that they'll want some sway over personnel, they likely won't be hired.Has Harbaugh had any sway over personnel over the course of his time in Baltimore? I don't think so...or at least I don't recall ever hearing about that. They could be attracted to someone like Harbaugh, for sure. Especially if he was on board with keeping Fangio and bringing in a good OC (that would receive Howrie's stamp of approval). Will this happen? Hmmm....doubtful. Only way would be for the Eagles to lose this playoff game because the offense looks like garbage again...against a very beatable 49ers defense.
January 8Jan 8 Seems like a lateral move. They’re both in the top half of the league, but neither are elite.
