Here is my conundrum.

Either Howie was inept this year and just let Patullo ruin the season.

OR

He was giving Siri the rope to hang himself after not being able to move on from him last year because they won.

Never thought of it that way but it is one to consider.....

As much as we want to lay blame let's not forget Hurts record without Lane. It's not good. The fact is the Niners had their hof tackle and we didn't.

I think Stefanski is the best guy. I will also take McCarthy with a good modern OC.

I love McDaniel as OC but I will take him as HC over Siri if its the only way to improve my system guy / play caller. (Fangio's opinion of him will carry a lot of weight)

I would even take Doug back over Siri but he would not be near my top choice.

I see Siri as a poison here. His terrible conservative do-nothing offensive attitude infects the organization.

It was infected in the 2nd half of games in 2022 even when things were mostly going well.

He is not a serious person. He is not professional. He has lost all credibility with the Patullo maneuver.

He needs to go.

I agree Siri doesn’t bring a lot to the table. His only job is calling time outs, challenging calls and making decisions on 4th down. But I don’t agree with your solutions; McDaniels is an absolute clown, I don’t want him as HC or OC. McCarthy is terrible and Stefanski is ok but hasn’t won a thing.

I would probably bring Siri back for another year but force him to bring in a new OC. If he refuses, he’s gone too.

They clearly underachieved this year. It was completely on the coaching staff. You could try to find another OC but if he’s successful he’ll be hired away again. This head coach is a clown who can’t construct an NFL offense without serious help.

Underachieved after losing all of those players and coaches after winning the Superbowl with one of the toughest schedules in the league? Talk about a spoiled fanbase.

Brock played an all star defense, still played to win even with turn overs, while hurts played an injured 9ers D, played it safe and conservative and was still trash. Eagles are stuck with a mid qb paying him elite $

You are the bravest person I know.

Yeap if you can't beat a team of practice squad players coming off a weeks rest then you are trash...

If you think KP should be fired Nick needs to be as well because they are the same person. They played it safe in a lot of games because Nick wanted to. That's his philosophy. If you bring in a new OC that's still going to be there.

What we saw tonight was a coach without his best WR and TE do more with less. This is the 2nd time in 3 years we watched Nick do less with more. Howie wasn't perfect but he gave him a top 3 roster in the league and for the 2nd time in 3 years he got bounced in the first round because he picked someone absolutely inept as OC.

I'm also tired of the you can't fire him because he won a SB crowd or the we are spoiled as Eagles fans. That's BS. Again, Howie, Vic, and KM won that SB and took Nick along for the ride. Also, where more is given more is expected. Howie and Vic gave him all he needed in a wide open year with a mostly healthy team. Sometimes teams don't have the players or players make mistakes in key moments. This year was a crap show with more talent that most coaches will ever have. When your choices and philosophy are on an epically bad level you don't deserve crap. So yeah, I'm spoiled because I don't want a coach who causes his team to lose.

He's blown 2 years of the window already because of epically bad decisions. Enough is enough. Will he be fired? Unfortunately, probably not, but he sure as hell should be. I'm absolutely hoping he wants to go down with the KP ship.

Honestly, yeah

Sums it up well

my main concern is whether or not Fangio stays. He's an old guy and he might also realize the Eagles window has closed.

No chance Sirianni gets fired, but I have a hard time believing that KP will be back. Maybe this is what the Eagles need to get more time to rest up and be ready for next season.

I don’t think there’s any chance Nick gets fired, but he did make the call to rest the starters and it cost them the 2nd seed. Not that it mattered since they lost in the first round regardless, but they had a better chance of beating the Packers. With that being the case it seems like all in the playoffs I watched a lot of teams just scheme guys open and consistent offensive flow. This team is offensively choppy. The offense needs new eyes and it’s very likely Howie and Jeff impose a new OC.

I wouldn’t oppose to it. He does nothing great.

The only way Sirianni gets fired is if he refuses to replace the OC. Someone needs to be held accountable.

I still think the Eagles were dealt a miserable hand this season with a brutal schedule and a lot stacked against them, but last night was abysmal. The Niners were held together by sticky tape and were there for the taking. There's a lot of blame to go around

I’m all for it. I recognise the highs he’s brought and that his record ranks very very highly. But he just isn’t the right man to take us forwards.

Howie didn’t choose KP. Nick hired his guy, but they would never have moved on from KP during the season unless the team had a catastrophic let down and were 1-8 or something like that and I still think they probably wait till the offseason to make a change.

Howie still has to sign off on it, he is Nicks boss. Howie went through this with Doug and in 2023 and still allowed this to happen so I put it on him

I think after they won the Super Bowl, they decided to allow Nick to choose his guy. At that point many of these guys options were gone anyway. This year they have time to get a new OC and they have more options. I don’t the ink they can go another season with KP as the guy though.

Typical over reacting

This. Everyone seems to forget this part. When Moore left after the SB, who were the Eagles going to bring in from the outside at that point to be OC? KP made sense given the situation at that time.

As far Nick being fired...I highly doubt Howie and Lurie will fire him outright UNLESS they demand he fire KP and Siri balks at that...i.e., the whole Pederson thing all over again. Siri might do that too because if he is given that ultimatum, it will basically be the same ultimatum in 2 of the last 3 years and now he has a SB on his resume. If Siri decides to be loyal to his pal KP vs. being realistic about what happened this year, then he deserves to go too.

The worst thing about all this is that it does feel like this team's prime is being wasted with Sirianni.

For the people defending Nick

What does he do that a different HC couldn’t do? What makes him special?

I don't think anyone is really defending Nick, just simply that he won't be fired
