has anyone thought maybe offensive coordinator candidate's don't want to be associated with the tush push? Every short yardage play is just qb sneak and then when it DOESNT work the OC looks like an idiot. I knew all this tush push business was going to bite us in the ass eventually.

Was this meant to be a serious post?

OC, QB Coach, Run Game Coordinator, Passing Game Coordinator, HC.......ugh.

That's a lot of cooks in the Offensive Kitchen!!! 🫣🧐🫣🧐

Yea. 7 years and how many OCs? This isn’t an issue. It’s something one of the idiots on the radio came up with and it spread.

JBC! Come on down!! You're the next OC of the Philadelphia Eagles!!! 🦅 😎

1 in the Cooter, 2 in the Patullo.

Ignore him … he’s a Giants fan and here only to troll. So f'ing lame (/yawn).

At this point, I’m leaning towards Cooter. I know he didn’t call plays for Indy but their offense really improved last year. Jones had the best year of his career and then old man Rivers stepped in and played pretty well all things considered. Taylor had a monster year. Warren played very well for a rookie. Even Alec Pierce had the same amount of yards as AJ Brown.

I remember when Cooter called plays in Detroit he had mixed results. He started out well but eventually lost his job calling plays. I’m sure he’s learned a lot since then and would certainly be an improvement over Patullo.

The eagles definitely aren’t giving off we were so impressed we didn’t want this guy to leave the building vibes on anyone. It feels like they are unsure. That may or may not matter in the end but it’s not encouraging

At this point, I think we're just gonna have to trust Howie/Lurie's judgement to bring in the right guy for the job. I wonder if they're looking at this hire with dual purpose...to help this year and someone who could possibly succeed Sirianni as HC at some point.

For what it's worth, I think probably the most intriguing candidate left (to me) is Frank Smith.

With Manion doing a 2nd interview...man, don't know how I'd feel if he were the hire. One part of me would be like what the hell are we doing while the other part of me would be like it's so crazy that he must be good?

<Edit> For about Tanner Engstrand...he is intriguing as well but no links to him yet.

I thought about that, but since he's sitting a year out, the best candidate to replace Sirianni would be Sean McDermott.

The Eagles look on these types of situations as opportunities to speak with some of the brightest and most successful football coaches in the world about every aspect of running a football program. It gives them insight into the newest and best practices that other coaches and organizations are using to succeed — in all sorts of areas, like practice facilities, scouting, player development, intercoach communications, play-calling, decision hierarchy, draft analysis, identities of talented coaches the interviewees have worked with, etc. etc.

To whine about them not having hired someone in a rush already is extremely short-sighted.

Personally, I’m thrilled they are engaging in a deliberate, thoughtful process. I certainly have not seen anyone else hired as an OC this offseason so far that I regret them not hiring.

no, im not a troll. I WAS a Giants fan but I'm an even bigger Barkley fan. I became an eagles fan when he got traded.

They probably already know who they want to hire as the next OC ... the process is dragging on because they are doing their due diligence gathering info on potential replacements for Sirianni next offseason. ph34r

Only if Fangio retires. But even then, Howie/Lurie are offensive mind type people. They'll likely always lean towards HC's with offensive backgrounds.

I forget, what did we send the vagiants in that trade?

A bunch of teams have a run game coordinator and pass game coordinator outside of the OC. With the magic Stoutland has worked with the line, I think he deserves the title. If a new OC can’t work with him it says more about the OC in my eyes.

People are getting bent out of shape over a guy that sucked in NY and chose the titans. Then another guy that chose the raiders? I’m good on people that want to go to loser franchises.

Last time the titans were good was with Steve McNair and Eddie George. The raiders were last good with who? Rich Gannon and Jerry Rice?

Mostly just wondering how much power the Eagles are willing to give up to anyone outside the building. I don’t even want any of those guys with aspirations to become a HC and undermining the HC every chance they get. Don’t need another Washburn or Schwartz.

Apparently it is...?? Jeff McLane reported that they took that away from Stout during the season at some point. So, if true, he's actually not our RGC anymore.

it's easier to work with the quarterback if your HC is an offense guy. I'll give you that. We also can't argue with the fact that all of our SB appearances came when we had an offense first head coach. That being said, it seems a lot of teams like to mix it up. We've been offense since Andy Reid. I think Fangio's career is going to be dependent on the team's success. Between losing great players because of the salary cap and unhappy players on offense, plus needing to rebuild the lines, it seems we're closer to a retool/rebuild than we care to admit.

Fangio is 67 years old so who knows how much longer he'll be doing this so yeah, if we bomb next season and Sirianni is fired, have to wonder if Fangio will just retire.

I think every team has to at least retool from year to year. "Rebuild", to me, is reserved for teams who hire a new HC and staff and have to find a new QB plus other pieces.

It's almost certain we are going to have to start retooling the offense. Hurts will be the QB for the foreseeable future, but we will need to start investing in young talent (i.e., the draft) along the OL, TE and WR. We are about to switch from the payroll being dominated by offensive players over to paying defensive players.

I could see him retiring at 70. He's got a great group of young guys that have very high potential. It'd be odd to leave that potential for someone else

I think Howie/Lurie would just tell the next HC that Vic is staying
