Can someone explain the Lurie's son issue and analytics? Thanks

The team has always heavily relied on analytics to create their play calling and decision making since the 20 teens. Luries son is part of the analytics team. Over the years his role has become more important. He is slated to become the head of the analytics team if he isnt already or hasn't been in full control. Analytics plays a part in personnel, who is on the field for a given play, what type of play should be run, in some cases the play itself and how many touches they get. They spoke about this all the time during Doug's tenure and the beginning of nicks during games and in articles about the team. If the new OC is required to follow the analytics he doesnt have full autonomy of the offense. Add nick to the factor and its easy to see the hard no's. Then add hurts and his capabilities that may not match what the OC wants in his offense.

They can toot out this being a process all they want. A team with a rabid fan base, winning culture, winning performances on the field. Best in the business Owner and Front Office. 1st class organization does not have these issues.

yes please do

Honestly I think OC candidates with experience are intimidated. If you can't make it work with this roster you deserve to get fired.

Edit: they better not bring in someone without play calling experience. Pederson still out there....

Bringing in Mannion may or may not work out. That being said, hiring a 33 year old with no play calling experiences is risky to say the least. Considering he is now coming in for a 2nd interview and there is barely anybody left it's looking like a real possibility.

Yeah, Chip Kelly is available too. And, Jon Gruden.

I'm happy about this. Daboll's experience is much more as a loser than a winner, and with his temper, it could be a bad mix with Siri. I think a lot of people wanted him only because of name recognition.

Apparently, the news that Green Bay's QB coach interviewed with the Eagles is not sitting well with Packer fans.

I didn’t have interest either. Just posting an update here.

Being a QB coach for one season doesn’t exactly translate to being a successful playcaller, knowing what to run in any given situation. Doesn’t mean he can’t do it, but no evidence that he can.

You know what was risky - hiring a young QB coach from GB without play calling experience as your head coach.

Lurie has a damn good track record when it comes to hiring coaches. I'll trust his judgment.

Wonder if we’ll have interest.

Unsure if I would.

I like Jets fired OC. Was Ben Johnson’s guy in Detroit and stats show Jets WRs were open they just had horrendous QB play. Upside is high. My favorite right now outside of Kingsbury

Looks like the Broncos don't want to lose Webb. I hope the Eagles get the interview done. Among the more inexperienced group of potential OC's, I find him an intriguing candidate.

News Update! The Eagles are interviewing Jo Flacco's second cousin's uncle's brother for the OC opening.....

wouldn't his 2nd cousin's uncle's brother also be his second cousin's uncle?

This search for OC is getting ridiculous. This is all Nick's fault so that he can bring KP back, and say that he is the most qualified of all the remaining candidates. Or we could get Stout to be our OC , since he is in charge of the blocking and running plays anyway. Another reason why other OC's do not want the job..being constricted by Stout scheme.

At this point, I think we're just gonna have to trust Howie/Lurie's judgement to bring in the right guy for the job. I wonder if they're looking at this hire with dual purpose...to help this year and someone who could possibly succeed Sirianni as HC at some point.

For what it's worth, I think probably the most intriguing candidate left (to me) is Frank Smith.

With Manion doing a 2nd interview...man, don't know how I'd feel if he were the hire. One part of me would be like what the hell are we doing while the other part of me would be like it's so crazy that he must be good?

<Edit> For about Tanner Engstrand...he is intriguing as well but no links to him yet.

The Eagles OC job is a doodoo sandwich.

That can be said for many of the teams searching to fill out their staff.

You want a doo doo sandwich, keep a (brown) eye on the Titans.

Yes I like Engstrand. And the search is what it is. Didn’t go as they would have hoped originally but I guarantee there are guys out there that could do the job well. They just need to find the right person

Yea you either get your house egged or become a head coach.

Monken being out sucks

Big Red was just a QB coach at onetime too. You never know how things will turn out, but truthfully Sirianni’s poor play calling skills are the biggest issue here.
