Sean Mannion has never called plays at any level. He only has 2 years coaching experience. The Eagles are RIDICULOUS.

Were they ridiculous when Andy Reid was hired as the head coach without experience as a coordinator or play caller? Were they ridiculous when they hired Jon Gruden as the OC without experience as a play caller? Eagles have a damn good track record hiring offensive coaching talent from the Packers' staff and are two for two hiring play callers from the Packers who previously had no play calling experience.

As RV said you bring in another coach to help. He was a QB in the NFL. He has experience calling plays and reading defenses. I'll take it

Also, it wasn't that KP didn't call plays before taking the job that did him in it was the lack of innovation or creativity.

If Manion is great next year and they win the SB, he becomes HC in Philly and Siri moves on.

Right....because the Eagles would fire a HC that has been to 3 Super Bowls and won 2 in 5 years?

The Eagles were prepared to give the new offensive coordinator full autonomy, but it remains to be seen whether that remains true with a hire as inexperienced as Mannion. Sirianni gave up play calling a handful of games into his first season and has stepped into more of a CEO role in recent seasons, though he has gotten more involved in the offense when he felt it was warranted, including down the stretch last season to try to elevate a sagging offense.

Not every inexperienced coach is going to perform as badly as Patullo. There have been plenty of first time OCs that were super successful even though they had zero play calling experience when they were first hired. Just have to hit on the right guy. Hopefully we did just that here.

I took that post as just kidding around.

We know if he's successful he'll be gone for another job probably. I would like to see an OC stick around for 2 years though.

Of course I turn on WIP and the first thing they’re doing is ripping the HC and the QB after the Eagles hire a new OC. 🙄 Anyways I would have preferred someone who definitely will be here longer than a year, but that doesn’t seem to be the case really. I mean if he sucks they probably blow him out of here along with Nick, and if he is SB level successful then he’s probably going to be a HC candidate and we are back to square one again….

Back to the radio dope he said he’s okay with the team basically losing so they can blow it all up. Is that where we are now? Clearly these youngsters don’t remember the Kotite years or the old Swamp Fox days. Assuming everything will just work out with new faces is just dumb in my opinion. I mean how many years did it take for Elway to actually win a championship? It’s been over 30 years since the Cowboys went back. This generation is spoiled and foolish to think opportunities to win a championship can easily occur. The host was asking what do you have in Sirianni and Hurts as if another guy who hasn’t called plays before is going to answer that??? I mean these guys are winning games at HOF level players and coaches, but yeah this guy is the one with all the answers. Don’t even know why I turned that crap on. Anyways my rant is done. I hope it all works, but I have my doubts.

My biggest issue. This cycle will not end so long as Nick doesn’t call plays. I mean maybe it’s a good idea to get a better offensive mind in here, but eventually let Nick call the plays? I

Mean at this point he has more experience than our new guy. With that being the case Steichen figured it out so you never know, but he left too.

KP? He had NOTHING and they hired him. This org is retarded. Actually, thats not fair toward retarded people, who are WAY smarter that this org

2023- hire an OC with ZERO play calling experience- offense is incompetent and unwatchable

2025- hire an OC with ZERO play calling experience- offense is incompetent and unwatchable

2026-hire an OC with ZERO play calling experience- offense is incompetent and unwatchable

Do the SAME THING OVER AND OVER, but expect different results- insanity.

Book it.

Exactly. Patullo oozed incompetence and stupidity. This guy oozes intelligence and competence.

Didnt this guy also turn Malik Willis into a halfway decent QB ?

Sounds like you are having a rough day. Again, KP was from Nick's tree and he had no creativity or imagination designing plays. That's why he failed. When they go outside the organization they tend to do well. They did that today, so we'll see. He learned under some good offensive minds and played QB in the NFL. He knows how to call plays already. We'll see, but I'm happy with the choice.

Well, you gave me a little hope. We'll see. TY.

You want a QB factory? Hire Gruden. 😂🤣😂

When Andy was hired, Rod Dowhower was his Offensive Consultant. AR had help, a lot of help, before he became a Full Time play caller.

What's disturbing is that this Franchise goes from a new OC whom had never called plays, to an another new OC who has never called plays. 🧐

If this guy is a true up and coming bright offensive mind, then at that's better than Patullo.

We have to hope he's learned enough about play calling from others.
