Honestly other than the fact that he has had prior experience coordinating an offense at this level ... nothing. I'd prefer McDaniel or Roman or Monken (but he is almost surely going to the Giants with Harbaugh).

Someone said in the blog that through associations he knows, Foles doesn't want to coach right now he wants to focus on his podcast and other things while he's got young children at home and doesn't want to be working a coaching job long hours away from his children. He's making money and doing well.

Foles, Philip Rivers, other former players need to take Assistant type positions first to work their way up.

We need an experienced play caller. You don't just jump from retired player to Coordinator.

Initially i was intrigue by Daboll but indeed it does not look a promising hire.

McDaniels ? Do not think he will stay more than one year if he stays. Maybe Eagles should look on those playoffs teams who are still on the sb race.

Why not the Broncos? Bo Nixon did a pretty good job this year for the Broncos

Could Klint or Klay Kubiak want a chance to run their own offense?

Both right now are coordinators under an offensive play calling HC. Maybe if we add the title of assistant HC we could get them away from seachickens or whiners?

I would also look at Mark Brunell, Josh McCown, and Davis Webb. All former qbs currently doing a good job with their QBs.

With Daboll, it really IS about Josh Allen. Entering the NFL, Allen had all the physical tools you could want. But, he was all over the place...wildly inaccurate, terrible decision-making, relying on his physical skills mostly, etc. Daboll definitely gets credit for helping him with all those things to make him a much better actual QB. Can't take that away from him.

Also, I kinda like the fact that he's "fiery" and seems like he could be the type to challenge Hurts the way he needs to be challenged.

What does Jalen need more...a McDaniel type who is more cerebral and can design more complex offenses but maybe acts like he's one of the guys and designs his offense to fit Hurts (i.e., simplifies things/coddle him, etc)....or....someone who can come in here, at least put a competent design in place but also not be afraid to get in Hurts' face and challenge him to do things he hasn't done before?

I dunno, I hear you about Daboll. He's not my A1 choice, but I don't think he's a bad choice either.

I literally have zero knowledge on him so I'll take your word for it. Not gonna bother looking him up unless buzz about him with the Eagles gets stronger.
