I'd be ok with Reich...that's who I preferred last year over KP. But at this juncture, he kinda feels "meh" to me. That said, I've felt "meh" about some coaches before...most notably Pederson and Sirianni, lol.

I don't actually believe it will be Reich (but would definitely be OK if it was). Gut says it is someone like Slowik.

He also wanted to coach in a warm place. Philly was always a bad fit.

Grizzard, Slowik, Cooter, they'll hire someone from the B team of "names" that fans want. At this point I don't know who is the best choice to work with Siri, Hurts, this roster. I think the talent is there and the OC needs to be organized, prep well during the week, have a good process (the reports/rumors are that they haven't had good process to keep players on the same page), experience calling plays and a feel for momentum of the game and what should be called. Are these the bare minimum for an OC? Yes, but Patullo couldn't do those. We do need creativity in the routes and such but doesn't have to be genius level. It shouldn't be that difficult to scheme two 1,000 yard WRs with better routes, know to not run the ball on 3rd and 15 or keep running up the middle with Jurgens out there like Bane broke his back. So competence, organization, process and playing to the players strengths should be a big improvement from KP.

I was really hoping for Daboll so he could bench Hurts again in week 2. Then him and Sirianni get into a fist fight on the sidelines over Daboll not calling enough hitch routes for Jalen. As Daboll goes down he taps in AJ and he beats the stuffing out of Hurts sending him to the blue tent. Tanner Mckee comes in and takes the team to the Super Bowl calling his own plays. Good times.

So they will have to settle for the second tier group of possible OCs. Which I'm ok with, because Brian Johnson and KP were like the fourth tier group. 🤓

I think it's probably better this way in the long term. It's a more fair way to get a good QB evaluation (needed to know if you extend), and is still in Hurts' favor. If he can't become a very good passer with someone like Slowik, even for just one year, we have way bigger problems than OC.

At this point, see if Mike Shanahan is interested in coming back to the NFL. He's 73 but he just orchestrated quite an offense for Indiana.

• Must have experience calling plays and being creative

• Return the offense to top 5 or be fired

• The team has to get to the Super Bowl or you're fired

• You're in complete control of the offense. Except for:

  • You have to keep the OL coach who is also in control of the run game

  • You will have your predecessor on staff as either the pass game coordinator or advisor who is best friends with the HC, no pressure!

  • The HC is going to handcuff you to play conservative

  • You must avoid turnovers at all costs and not call plays that are too risky

  • Once you have a lead you are required to shrink to play vanilla and conservative so we don't lose

  • Get used to the tush push, you are required to run that with 1 yard to go, sometimes 2. No, you don't get to call something else

  • You may be required to change the identity of the team throughout the season once AJ Brown and the Offensive linemen go public in the media that they don't like what you're doing

• Your top WR demanded a trade 3 times last season and (maybe?) has a shaky relationship with the QB

• Your QB is an average passer at best, but is a dual threat to run. Except he doesn't like to run anymore and when he does is slow and hesitant

• I hope you like hitch routes, we like hitch routes

• Your offensive linemen are injured and will not be effective, and the OL coach is responsible for the run game, but if the run game isn't dominant you will be fired

• You're losing your top TE to free agency and you will have Grant Calcaterra as your veteran returning TE. We'll draft a guy in the 3rd round for you.

• If you're doing a bad job, some fans will harass you and your family and egg your house

• Don't listen to any media, the local radio shows entire existence is to create drama and rage bait and will crucify you publicly every week

• If this works out, you'll get Head Coach interviews after one season. If it doesn't, you'll be fired as the scapegoat

No one of any notoriety wants to coach this quarterback or be associated with this immature HC.

My top choice is Brady...but I feel he will get a HC job ..then Zac Robinson or Thomas Brown ...

Every point you made is valid but there was a report that said he was the #1 choice. He wasn’t line for every reason you listed but that’s why I made that comment.

At this point I would gladly settle for "ok," which is guys like Slowik, Robinson, or maybe even Grizzard. If they hire Nagy (sucks), Cooter (will just run Sirianni's junk offense), or Kafka (sucks) I am so out on this team next season.

Jim Bob Cooter is the best offensive mind of the entire coaching cycle. What he just did in Indy is impressive. He’s clearly better than Daboll.

McDaniel has never been able to outwit the league’s best defensive minds. Slowik is in the same class as Kellen Moore: Adequate and good enough.

Also, is there another source beside Dianna Russini? She’s been making crap up for a few years now.

I’m not sure Jeff Darlington is a reliable source on the Eagles.
