It's one thing to play in games, it's another to play effectively and efficiently in said games. He should not be on the field if he can't be effective and efficient. Which he (and Jurgens) were NOT this season.

For whatever reason, the O Line sucked arse this season. Injuries, scheme, Coaching, etc.....there were awful. Stoutland needs to have his feet held to the fire. He can't get a free pass every season, IMO.

If the injured guy is better than the backup, the injured guy should remain out there if he's capable of playing. A mediocre version of Dickerson is better than a healthy Pryor.

Some players play thru pain/injuries as a sign of valor and team spirit. Others play perhaps, due to "Wally Pip Syndrone".

Doesnt dickerson cam and lane take up a combined 62M a season?

Theyre always injured. Howie has got to work his magic.

That tush push has taken its toll for sure! You can’t convince me that didn’t have any affect or contribute at all to the fact the entire OL was banged up. Even mailata was hampered.

Yeah particulary when they overused it the first half of the season

Cam was drafted and groomed behind Kelce and had a great year last year so his extension made sense. I think with him he just rushed back after back surgery. He (and Dickerson too) needs to have whatever surgery or procedure needed immediately and start rehab. AND if these guys aren't ready for week 1, don't risk further injury. That's what happened this year. If Toth had started at center with the whole week of practice preparation he would have been fine, as he was in the games he started. Being a warrior who plays through injury is great, unless you're a liability. They couldn't even run the tush push the same. That play is mostly interior O line and QB.

If Jurgens is healthy he'll be good. Dickerson is a great player, he also hopefully will get healthy this offseason. They just also need good backups.

Spot on with this. He's a 1st round talent that slid to us in the 2nd due to what we are witnessing. He's a massive talented guy but with his injury history there was only a small chance he would be solid for a long period of time.

That’s why I said at the time, that the smart move was to take Creed Humphrey who went 26 picks later in round 2 to the chiefs and didn’t have the injury history. He’s since made four pro bowls with no major injuries.

Dickerson has had no major injuries in the NFL either.

This is the one failure of coaching that I struggle with, they could see Dickerson and Jurgens were struggling, I don't care if the players themselves want to suit up 'for the team', they should've taken the decision out of their hands and shut them down for the season, all they've done is held up the healing process for a season and it's done neither the players themselves or the team any favors.

And then there is the signed contracts and all the money that the players have received. Makes Howie and the Eagles look bad, with everyone underperforming but signed lucrative contracts.

He isn't sure he can get back to full health. Time will tell the tale. We were having similar talk about and now he seems to have turned a corner.

Continuing to Trot a clearly hobbled Dickerson out there week after week was derelict of duty by the coaches, dickerson says he didnt want to let his teammates down yet every week the coaches continued to allow him to go out there in a wheel chair hurt the team.

Same goes for jurgens

Should have shut em both down until they were relatively healthy, they were both awful all year.

This.

They both stunk and were injured all year . But, the OLine depth was so bad this season that my guess is that Stoutland had to put them out there no matter what.

Mistakes were made ALL SEASON from this Coaching staff. Playing who and when was one large mistake.

Lane Johnson needs to retire, it's time. They need to go all in on the O line in the draft. These guys just arent good enough., or long in the tooth, I love lane but he is injured way to much. Before he ruins his future livelihood he should retire.

Play calling. I was calling out the running plays and which direction the were going all season from my couch lol.

Be prepared for the Eagles to come off the perch of a top tiered team in the league once that happens. I agree the team needs to go all in on offense in the draft. Just be prepared that even after going all in on offense for a year or two, you don't just go out and replace a Lane Johnson. He's a generational talent.

With the roster they have, they can win without Lane Johnson. They won games without him this year. They have a championship level defense. They've had great OTs they've drafted or acquired over the years. They just need a competent OC with play calling experience and better QB play.

Replace him and Jurgens. Get a new OC. And we're back where we were in 2024.

Fred Johnson wasn't the problem. Dickerson and Jurgens were awful. Just awful. Steen was okay. He wasn't as good as Becton, but he wasn't as bad as Jurgens and Dickerson.

People can bounce back after a bad season. The answer isn't to replace everybody after every negative.

I'm not saying we should replace everybody. Definitely not. But we need to upgrade our OL.

This post is on point.

The OLine Tackles were not as good this year as they were last year.

BUT, the interior of said OLine was very bad this season. Whether it was injuries, or scheme, or Coaching, or play calling, or lack of hunger to maul a D player, this "vaunted" group took a big step back, IMO. And I want Stoutland to be held to the fire.

C'mon folks. Let's not buy into another media marrative so quickly. Sure, he was banged up throughout the year, but does anyone remember how Kelce used to finish a season and come back just as strong the following yea.r We had only one clue - Landon said he didn't know if he'd recover in this off-season. That's it! My message - wait and see.

Dickerson also is carrying alot of extra weight which isn't going to help him with knees and ankles. He would be alot better dropping 20 to 30 pounds.

It was pretty clear this season because they were playing Dickerson and Jurgens hurt they couldnt run the same movement based schemes effectively and called them less. Major issue for their regression in the run game. They need 1 - 2 more guards they have confidence in to play so they don't feel like they have to play Dickerson hurt.

Agreed ^^^ that Dickerson looked fatter/heavier this season.

Put Toth at C, Jurgens back at RG, and have Steen be a swing backup??

As long as both Jurgens and Dickerson address their medical issues with whatever surgery or procedures, rehab and conditioning they should be ready for the season. They both rushed back early last season.

Jurgens is concerning with his back. Need to have a backup ready to roll and decide this season if Jurgens returns after the season or not.

I hope not! Steen actually graded out well, far better than Becton or Jurgens at RG. Draft a plug and play guard with a focus at LG, Dickerson could use someone pushing him. Jurgens is far more difficult because back injuries have a habit of hallowing out careers, so here like Dickerson assets will go here too. I wouldn't be surprised to see three o-lineman within their first five picks.

The young guy had 4 consecutive season ending injuries in college that required surgery. They included both knees and both ankles. How in the world did anyone think he'd stay healthy in the NFL for any real length of time? It's a stupid conclusion to reach. He's injury prone and damaging a surgically repaired ankle or knee (or both) is really bad. I don't know what he hurt again this time, but I do know that because of the rigors that an NFL O-lineman must endure, he's always hurt. Every year without fail he ends up struggling to varying degrees. Can't have that unreliability.

That kind of feels like Lane too. On top of that Juergen has back issues in a position where he’s battling 320 plus pounds linemen. The line once was a strength, but clearly this group has taken a step back due to age and injuries.
