Posted January 17Jan 17 Abney is listed at 6'0''190He is an excellent man cover corner who also shows good awareness in zone. AND one of the better run stopping CBs in the class.Video below predicts a 4.4 40 from him. I believe he will meet the size and speed requirements for our defense, but more importantly also the IQ and tackling needed for the Fangio defense. He is not listed in the top 5 of any of these CB rankings as of today. https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2026/story/_/id/46149416/2026-nfl-draft-rankings-top-prospects-position#cbWhich means he could be a round 2 possibility.I wish there were more INTs. I really want to add that to the defense. But he makes a ton of plays on the ball. And if you can get a guy who can cover this well and plays the run, in round 2? I guess Ill continue living without INTs and just enjoy the great coverage.
January 17Jan 17 Not being in ANYONES top five is disrespectful. Abney doesn't have the picks because teams don't throw his way very often. He's a sticky defender thats not gonna give up the big plays. If he's available at 54, I'm running to the podium.

January 19Jan 19 Listening to Seth Joyner this A.M. I was left with the impression that what we need on defense are a few more wolves. He said that was what set aside teams like Seattle this year.He went on to describe wolves as relentless hunters on a mission to suceed or else (similar to an Eagle?).

CJGJ was a dog. our defense had an attitude. this year we didn't.
