A couple top Eagles' OC options appear to be off the board in search

It looks like you can cross Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll off the Eagles' list of potential offensive coordinators.

Two of the top candidates in the Eagles’ search for their next offensive coordinator appear to be off the board.

On Tuesday night, multiple reports surfaced that former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is heading to Los Angeles to be the next offensive coordinator for the Chargers. And on Wednesday morning, Dianna Russini of The Athletic had the latest on former Giants head coach Brian Daboll:

Daboll, 50, reportedly interviewed with the Eagles on Tuesday.

Perhaps something changes with Daboll, but for now, it seems like you can cross him and McDaniel off the Eagles’ list. Those were two of the top known candidates for the offensive coordinator job.

In fact, on the latest Eagle Eye podcast, we ranked the eight known candidates and had McDaniel and Daboll, in that order, atop our lists.

It’s worth noting that the Eagles have been casting a pretty wide net over the last week or so as they look for the fifth offensive coordinator under head coach Nick Sirianni. The other names they’ve been linked to are Bobby Slowik, Zac Robinson, Mike Kafka, Josh Grizzard, Jim Bob Cooter and Charlie Weis Jr.

It is also possible someone like Kliff Kingsbury or Joe Brady — coaches the Eagles have shown interest in before — could enter the search at some point too.

The Eagles are searching for their next offensive coordinator after relieving Kevin Patullo of those duties after just one year on the job. The Eagles’ offense took a step back in 2025 under Patullo and it was obvious they needed a change. The next OC will be Sirianni’s fifth, following Shane Steichen, Brian Johnson, Kellen Moore and Patullo.

"You're looking to continue to evolve as an offense and I'm looking to bring in the guy that's going to best help us do that,” Sirianni said last week. "I think that there are many different ways to be successful on offense and everybody has different styles, everybody has different players, and there's many different ways to be successful.”

Can now scratch Zac Robinson off the list too
