It most definitely was not.Three teams won 14 games this year and only 2 of them had their starting QB last weekend.The only team that won 13 games did not win a playoff game (Jacksonville)The fraud of the 4 teams was LA, not New England.The Patriots easy schedule was in part because of the NFC South.The Jets x2 and the Cardinals x2 cancel out.The Bills and the Seahawks cancel out.The Rams and Seahawks also played the AFC South. (Rams 5 times)The Rams did not win their division but at least they split with their division winner. January 29Jan 29 Author The Patriots are dangerous pretty much everywhere on both sides of the ball.Maye could break Hurts QB record of 74 yards rushing in a SB.Gonzalez is one of the best corners in the league and can hold his own 1 on 1 with JSN.The Seahawks have a theoretical good run D but faced a hideous run offense schedule.The Rams (6th) are similar in run offense to the Patriots (5th) and the Rams ran for 119, 124, and 114 vs the Seahawks.When the Seahawks got the dreadful running teams they held them to the 50-70 yard range.Herbert, Stroud, and poor Denver QB2 were pressured and rattled in all 3 Patriots playoff game.Have you ever seen Darnold under constant pressure?Its fair to think the Seahawks are a slightly better team.Its fair that they are favored.No way is it going to be easy.
January 29Jan 29 Author The Patriots gave up 145.7 rushing yards per game (including their loss to Buffalo) during weeks 11 through 17.Guess who played 8 snaps in the first game of that stretch and was on IR for the rest of those games?They gave up 76.4 yards rushing per game in the 14 games Mr. BTA was healthy.This includes 71.3 per game in the 3 playoff games.

February 1Feb 1 Author Darnold was fairly awful from week 11 through the end of the season.215ish yards per game 8 TDs 4 picks 6 fumbles (2 lost) 91.5 passer rating.He got to play the minced version of the 49ers defense and the Rams defense.He did not have Patullo and Calcaterra and a crippled OL. They did not go OOPS ALL HITCHESTheir WR1 was actually trying to catch footballs.SF was 13 20 on D (including when they had players) but trending worse.LA was 10 17 and trending the wrong way big time. (370 yards per game in the 6 games before the NFCCG)370 yards a game over a season would be 29th.Now they get New England who is 4 8 statistically but better than that with Milton Williams.Williams missed 5.9 games and the run D was much worse without him. He is healthy now.Seattle in Santa Clara is going to be similar or easier for Maye than his last 3 games. LAC has an awesome pass D, Texans and Denver have awesome overall D and the weather suckedDenver presents actual breathing issues for road teams.Darnold might wind up looking like he did vs the Rams and Lions last year as the D-line pressure ramps way up.The run game won't help much since Seattle only runs well against bad run defenses.NE is the best run D in the league when Milton Williams plays (about 76 yards allowed per game)
February 8Feb 8 Author I'm getting some Gannon Vibes from the Seattle Defense.They faced 2 top QBs playing well all year (4 total games)Stafford went for 8 TDs 0 picks and a rating of 110.8 (yes he had some picks dropped but it was the Seahawks D dropping them)First 6 weeks Baker (MVP talk) went for 2 TDs 0 picks and a 135 rating.The rest of their QB schedule was absolute drek including a decent Purdy with 2nd and then 3rd stringers around him.Pre-bye Lawrence (9 TDs 5 picks 80 rating) He got better after the bye when they traded for Myers and Washington became a starter. February 8Feb 8 Author Its fair to say the Patriots schedule was easy. So was Seattle'sThey had 7 common opponents and both won 6 of 7.Seattle also faced AZx2, Bosmer, Rivers, and the Commanders. There is nothing impressive there.That leaves going 4-2 against the Rams and decimated 49ers as the entire argument that the Seahawks are good.That and the Jags before the bye.The Rams went 5-2 against those same common opponents. (extra Panthers and no Steelers)The 49ers went 4-3 against those teams and then beat up on the Giants, Cleveland, Rivers Colts, and the Cardinals twice.Last year it was Philly is the better roster but magic Mahomes!This year its New England is probably the better roster but pretend strength of schedule in a pathetic 2025 league.Oh yeah and a large helping of some Darnold will hold his own vs Maye delusion.
