Here are a couple of former Eagles play callers hired from GB while in their 30's and with no play calling experience.

What They Were Saying About Andy Reid in 1999

Jon Gruden analyzes Nick Foles, Eagles as speculation grows Gruden could be next head coach - nj.com

No offense, but the offenses we had with Reid were atrocious. The pass game was never great because of no WR talent, and the run game was always underutilized because of his infatuation with the passing game. If it wasn't for Jim Johnson, Reid would've been a total failure here imo. Mahomes has made him into a HoF coach.

Anyway, I'm neutral about the new hire just like I was about Patullo's. If the offense absolutely stinks after 6 games, then it'll most likely end up being a bad hire. Either way, I'm not expecting much, so hopefully we're all pleasantly surprised.

A few things need to be done.

A better passing game, more creativity within the entire Offense, passing and running game both need some life breathed into them, less injuries, less selfishness, screens, jet sweeps, reverses, post patterns, corner patters, post-corner patterns, etc.....Am I asking too much? Hell, my HS Offense was more imaginative and creative than a KP/Siri Offense. And I played football 35 years ago.

I think what we need are more hitch routes! P

I don’t really like it but I guess we’ll see. I’m really not surprised that they hired another head scratcher.

Head scratcher.... interesting.

Who were all of these non-head scratching candidates. There isn't a bench of highly desirable offensive coordinators out there....those guys already have jobs! So out of the Daboll, McDaniel and.... Monken? I mean who else did you think was available and not a head scratcher? Nagy, Kingsbury.... I'd rather take a chance and miss than know I'm going to miss with the non-headscratchers available. I'd seriously like your take on this.

I don't why, but I'm liking these hires more and more. 🦅🏈

I'm having trouble fathoming why no one is posting in this thread?? 🤐😬

It's been like a couple of days with no responses.

Are we all bored, or worse, apathetic and scared to the Offenses new hires?!!

🥺🥺

PREDICTION:

Sean Mannion will be the next head coach of the Eagles. 1 or 2 years- HE will take Siri's place.

Keeping Moorhead...who the hell does he have pics of???

Why are some here so surprised? WR has not been a liability on the Eagles for years. Brown and Smith both have expressed a lot of respect for him and have credited him for their own development or continued development. Moorehead isn't a part of the offensive philosophy that has struggled recently. He's just a position coach that quietly does his job. Put away the guillotine.

Yet another coach carried by the talent!! 😂 I don't know why we bother having coaches with all this talent they can just play backyard football and win multiple super bowls 😜

I'm wondering how much of the decision to change the offensive scheme was driven by Lane Johnson being at the end of his career. It's no secret how bad the team's record is when Johnson is out of the lineup. It would make sense for the decision to go with a new scheme would be driven in part to lessen the impact of the loss of johnson when he finally retires.

Brown and Smith are top guys and have always been... now who has he developed in the 3,4 and 5 ...nobody...and most players don't. criticize their position coaches while they are still with a team

it will come out whence of them moves on.

1) Lack of evidence (to support a claim) is not evidence. Making an inference that people's actual praise is not only fake, but somehow the opposite of how they really feel is conspiratorial. Neither WR was forced to say good things because of a gun to the head.

2) Having great players to work with is not a negative.

3) Since both Brown and Smith have been on the team, how many opportunities have there been for any other WRs to shine? You know as well as the rest of us that we rarely target a WR3 in our offense. Since Jalen became the starter, the Eagles are among last in the league in pass attempts, giving everybody less of a chance to produce. Before we traded for Brown, Quez became our WR2 and was actually productive. In games where injuries allowed a player to fill in, both Quez and Dotson have been able to be productive. In 2020, the Eagles had all the injuries (Jeffery, DJax, Watkins, Reagor) and somehow street scrub Travis Fulgham became the most productive WR in the NFL for a 5 week stretch. Greg Ward also stepped in and produced 53 catches that year.

4) Did he fail with high draft picks like JJAW and Reagor? Reagor was traded to the vikings who had good WR coaching and he couldn't do anything there or anywhere else. Neither he, JJAW, Quez, Ward, Fulgham or anybody else I can think of moved on to another team and produced better than they did here (since 2020 when Moorehead arrived) --- which would have been a good argument against Moorehead if any of them had.

Conclusion: Moorehead is not responsible for the low passing volume of the Eagle's offense or the lack of targets for anybody not named Brown, Smith, or Goedert. He has not failed with Smith and Brown either. Why then should the Eagles fire him? Because some fans like seeing heads roll?

No that would have nothing to do with it. Lurie likes explosive, innovative offense. He is tired of the expensive investment in this offense with underwhelming results. Last year was great with the dominant run game and defense, but the run game wasn't dominant anymore and the offense was predictable. If Lane were able to play 5 more years it wouldn't make a difference. They want a new scheme. This roster is built to dominate offensively, and he wants a coach and scheme to maximize that.

Well that's your opinion Mrs. Moorehead... Myself and others feel differently.

So your reason for wanting him fired is "feelings" ?
