Why would the raiders be interested in Tanner for 2 picks in this draft? Unless you have them trading the #1 pick they have their qb of the future it would make no sense for them to give up another two top 134 picks for a 1 year stopgap.. they have plenty of cap space they could either keep Geno for this year or can him and save 8 million and pick up a Kurt Cusions

I think Kubiak trades #1 back to rebuild the OL and defense. Tanner fits the mold of the kind of QB he wants to run his offense, is young, and can take a cheap shot at a a starting QB for a relatively cheap cost.

That does make some sense then… I wish we still had the draft we used to do in this section where everyone got a team or two and we worked through the entire draft order, but I think the people that did that no longer post here… the raiders actually have some pieces though their division is tough they could have a quick turn around if they make the right moves.

Wow - thanks for the read.

I don't understand the Draft DAy 3 trade - 2 4ths for a 4th?

Nyck Harbor is returning to school. Good pick though, until I found that out he was in my mocks too.

Michael Crter doesn't have to be re-signed, he's not a free agent. But your thought was totally correct. His cap number has to be re-done, there's no way he's worth $10M

Don't think there's enough $ to re-sign all of those players. It's probably either Phillips or Goedert.

Last year Williams came out early. Most thought he'd be a first round pick this year. If the projection was right a 3rd OL in this draft would be a luxury

Good read - thanks again.

Didn’t realize Harbor didn’t declare! That’s a bummer…I’m going with Max Klare there then. He’s a similar profile to Goedert coming from an established program. Projected in 3rd round.

I actually liked the idea of signing Carter now, as I think this system works for him and he gets another offseason to settle in as slot CB depth behind Coop. He’s still young and would be cheaper to sign now then after having a strong season (assuming I’m correct in his fit).

The Day 3 trade makes a lot of sense to me. Sending a mid 4th and late 4th to Houston for their early 4th (that was received in a trade from Washington) to land one of the top C prospects. Houston is pretty stocked at positions, but this trade gives them 3 4ths and we get our guy.

Absolutely. I think the Raiders go the Seattle route and rebuild AROUND the QB, not with a QB. They can go QB next year if Tanner doesn’t pan out, but considering they have Jeanty and Bowers, they could build the OL and DL this year. I’d expect them to sign a WR like Jeudy, as well.

But why do we want a center

He can play G or C (like Jurgens). We need to replace Toth, and Jurgens is not a lock to be the long-term C for us given his up and down play and injuries.

We 100% need two versatile IOL this draft to start molding. Since Ioane would be a plug and play RG to replace Steen next year (or maybe this year at some point if he out-competes Steen), that leaves the other hypothetical pick to be able to play C and LG

I get it. Personally I was hoping Hinton would be moved inside. Kendall and Lampkin can battle it our for backup at center, we 'd have Hinton and Ioane as our backup guards, and Cameron Williams as backup tackle

That’s a lot of faith in late picks/ undrafted players there Rob.. I don’t think Lampkin could do something.. had some decent preseason tape from last year on the rams… and Williams has upside and I liked his week 18 work but we need to heavily invest in the line one way or another.

Agreed. We need proven young talent that can be starters by end of season should we get hit with the injury bug again going into the post-season. Our window is NOW. Can’t afford to cheap out on OL talent when OL performance plays such an integral role for this offense (even if it’s evolving under Mannion).

I can’t get behind these guys based on what we saw in the preseason and their limited opportunities last year. Give me studs that Stout can mold by end of year.
