You just don't hear about it because they might not be household names. Probably dozens. And then there are players that might not retire, but they’re just never as good as they once were. Carson Wentz is a good example. He was never the same after his torn ACL. He lost all mobility. Before his injury, he was as mobile as Josh Allen and arguably as good. Now he's a backup QB and not a good one. Too slow and no mobility.Carson Wentz also seemed to have mental issues in addition to the physical handicaps. How much of the mental part is due to the various hits to the head I don't know but I recall a TV shot of Wentz on the sideline when he was playing for the 'skins. He had kind of a vacant look like he was shell shocked or something.
February 21Feb 21 The red flag is that Jurgens was a top 5 center in 2024 and a bottom 10 center in 2025.Voodoo, Stems Cells, or Darkness Retreats, and rest don't fix back injuries.
February 23Feb 23 Either way, the Eagles need 2 major offensive line moves. The draft might have to focus on the o line exclusively for them. I have no problem with that- its gotta be done.

Otherwise they need to draft an Edge high and that is one less pick they have for an OL.
March 5Mar 5 Cam like Landon I believe struggled through injures all season. Lane was out due to injury and Steen wasn’t good enough. You know if Joe Borrow had a line with 4 question marks on it the excuse machine would be in full force blaming everyone but him for the team’s struggles. Jalen had that line and apparently he’s a bum whose backup needs to start. His team still won’t eleven games, but yeah bring in the backup.

So did he re-injure his back? Did the surgery fail? Does he need surgery? Is this a Hail Mary?I keep thinking about Eddie Van Halen and how we was going to Germany to receive "alternative" cancer treatments. One year later, he was dead. Anytime someone is leaving the country for treatment like this, that's not a good sign. not necessarily, there are certain hallucinogens like Ayahuasca (which are illegal in the USA) that have been shown to greatly improve (even reverse) the long term effects of CTE, Dan Carcillo, former Flyers enforcer used them in Central America with amazing results, and now Johns Hopkins is actually researching them as treatment modalities. This might be something similar where the treatment is sound but has not yet garnered FDA approval
March 9Mar 9 This offensive line needs to be invested in and not some mid to late round picks hoping they can be developed. Stout is gone now. Time to replenish the line.
March 10Mar 10 Until they can grow super discs in a lab from a person's stem cells and replace their ruined disc, ruptured disc back injuries are the end of football careers. I have more confidence in Dickerson's titanium and bungee cord joints than Jurgens' back. Both guys likely have to be replaced and I think it would be prudent for Howie to take that approach. If they both come back 100% then the worst result would be having a lot of starting caliber O-linemen, which is a good problem to have.
March 10Mar 10 Jeeze, WTF is going on.I feel bad for both dudes. To be so young and have these injuries.....ugh.
March 11Mar 11 Author Again, this sounds like a Hail Mary to me. Traditional treatments aren't working — that's the takeaway here.

March 12Mar 12 Stem cell therapy has shown some promise, in general, but has yet to make it to "mainstream" treatment options. Of course, I'm sure this type of treatment hasn't garnered more mainstream approval (or FDA approval) due to the people in charge of that being owned by Big Pharma. Big Pharma wants to reject anything that doesn't involve lifelong or years of taking meds. That said, stem cell therapy has mixed results and vary from person to person pending what they're trying to treat. Hopefully it helps Jurgenson and Dickerson. We'll see. But I agree that it feels like a "hail mary" attempt at finding some relief so they can continue playing.

The purpose was to relieve severe stenosis at L4-L5, which was due to a herniated disc. They drilled two holes into my vertebrae and pulled out matter that was impinging on my central nervous system. So far, it looks like a success. My life will get back to normal, but here's the big difference. I'm not a center in the NFL.Now I'm not sure what's going on with Cam, but I can say for sure the procedure I had was relatively minor compared to most back procedures. And I was still told no working out, no exercising, and no gym for 6 months. If I were an NFL player, my career would be over, and again, this is one of the most minor back operations there is.If Jurgens is visiting Columbia for stem cell treatments, that tells me a couple of things. 1) Last year's surgery either failed or he re-injured his back. 2) The best hospitals on the planet (e.g., Mayo Clinic) are probably giving him news he doesn't want to hear. He probably needs a Fusion procedure, and now we're talking about serious back surgery. If so, that's a career ender. He's never playing again.I'm not a Doctor, but I think this stem cell treatment is like a Hail Mary pass, and his attempt to avoid a career-ending surgical procedure.Just my 2 cents, but it's based on a lot of relavant, real-life experience. You are right - I’m in the business and the stem cell injection is total BS - that’s why you can’t get it in the US with insurance paying for it. Should have drafted the player with less of an injury history that year in Creed Humphrey, now we have to use another top pick on an OG plus and OT.

There are no proper peer reviewed trials which show statisticalltmsignificant results. That’s why only charlatans treat people and no insurers cover the procedures.
March 27Mar 27 I believe again that this is why an OL will be the top pick. In a year or two Jurgens, Dickerson, Johnson will be gone. They have 5th and 6th round picks to replace them at this moment. Some people don't like Steen for some reason, maybe because he isn't an all-pro. But he is solid and needs to be extended otherwise 4/5 of the OL is history. This is reality.

March 27Mar 27 Him being trotted out week after week basically crippled was criminal. What an embarrassment. Who decides to play a guy that can barely walk? On a team trying to make a back to back run. Was Lurie ok with this? Howie? It's unbelievable. Not just as an affect to the team but his general health and welfare. I've never seen anyone play this messed up for an entire season continually put in a lineup. Maybe a game or two. Whoever made these decisions, and there's more than one that we know of, needs to be put into a cannon and shot into the Sun.
