I've said it like 678 times, PLEASE bring Nakobe back. We shall see. 🥰

Nevermind.

Damnit!

I didn’t have high expectations they’d retain Dean and Phillips. I assumed other teams would pay more, and in Phillips’ case, he really cashed in. Good for him.

Dean’s contract seems more reasonable, and it hurts losing him. But Jihhad Campbell is someone we can plug into that spot.

Texans to sign S Reed Blankenship

The Texans' No. 1 defense is adding a big name to it.

Damn. Was hoping to get Blankenship back.

Would have liked Nakobe back but he’s like Jordan Hicks. Hurt for us but never going to get hurt for his new team.

Ugh. We're losing very important players.

Meh, no one irreplaceable.

Phillips just went to too much. Smart move to pass.

Dean was a luxury. We drafted Campbell to replace him.

Loved Blankenship’s effort but he had some serious limitations.

Who cares about Dotson.

This team isnt winning a championship next season. I'd love to be wrong, but they're losing too many guys again on the defensive side. I expect the defense to take another step back and not be as good as the year prior, like last season.

Quite a few reports (or one report that others jumped on and ran with??) stating Dallas offered Dean a contract similar to what LV offered ... he "went with his gut" and chose the Raiders. lol

Most likely, he had an opportunity to be reunited with Quay Walker and that impacted his decision.

Idk. Dean is a natural Mike LB. Jihhad seems like a really good athlete - but doesn’t have the twitch, reaction, explosiveness, and recognition Dean has. Dean is a lesser version of Ray Lewis. Campbell is like a form of Isaiah Simmons to me. He really just lacks the instincts and desire for disruption. That’s why we’ve seen so much Dean in both running situations and as a blitzer. He blows up blocks, Campbell welcomes blockers into his space.

I agree - I think Dean for 3 $30m makes sense. Similar to losing Bechton last year for relatively cheap will be the most impactful loss so far.

Dotson though, for that cheap, I’d have bright him back with a competent OC, he’s a really good 3rd WR.

Come on back, Goedert. You know you want to. 🤓

Why does Goedert possibly returning only feel "meh" ? I guess because everyone says his blocking was crappy last year?

I want him back for his pass catching. They can find another TE for blocking duties, IMO. He's really good in the Red Zone.

If they can bring Goedert on a team friendly deal then they wouldn’t need to invest 2 picks on TE … they’d just have to use a later pick on a blocking TE. But not saying I wouldn’t still commit 2 picks if the right guy who could be Goedert’s successor next year is there on day 2.

As of 2PM Wednesda

Losses:

Edge - Phillips

LB - Dean

S Blankenship

WR - Dotson

and 2 ppreviously

QB - McCord

LB - P Johnson

Gains -

None
