I’m sure anyone can be had for the right price… I saw something that said there have been calls checking on Barkley… but in reality JC is under contract this year.. and I’m sure they would pick up his 5th year option for 2027.

It’s the world we live in these people have to drive people to their feeds somehow to make a couple $$$ year round.

I’m fine if he stays and if the compensation is enough I’m fine if he goes.

I'm sure vic looked at the tape and took everything into consideration as to which one projected to be the better player to extend and gave Howie his input.

Don't forget Carter was playing, basically with bum shoulders for the majority of the season and couldn't get any push. Maybe there is something long term there they didn't feel comfortable moving forward with. Not to mention caters questionable attitude.

Don't get me wrong I love Carter and think he is special and thought he would be the guy that gets extended. Like I said though, they must know or see something in Carter that doesn't project well for the future.

Orrr I could be completely wrong and they end up signing him too lol. I'm sure they can get a haul for him though and use that to keep replenishing the defense with young talent on rookie deals and pay who they think will be the better long term players.

Paying Davis does not mean they are going to trade Carter. Im sure they’ll listen to offers because that’s what Howie does but this deal doesn’t mean we won’t be keeping Carter.

Any player can be made available … if the price is right. If a team were to make a ridiculous offer like 3 x 1st rd picks it is probably a safe bet he’d be moved.

I don’t think they intend to move him though. I also don’t think paying Davis precludes them from paying Carter. Davis is now signed for the next 4 years. They could potentially get 2 years out of Carter with the 5th year option available to use before they would have to pay him.

If a team gave us a 1st round draft pick, I'd have to seriously think about it. He spits in people's faces, has shoulder issues, kinda immature, so there are reasons to move him. Just saying.

Short of someone offering up a young super star level edge rusher, or multiple first round picks AND a good rotational pieces at edge rusher or DT it would be extremely stupid. If the best they could do is a Quinnen Williams level package (1st, 2nd, bust prospect in Mazi Smith) it would be a horrible decision/move.

They don't have to re-sign Carter yet. It would be beneficial and cheaper to do it now. But he's got another year before that come up. But, thinking about Carter and how his focus and or immaturity has been exposed. Maybe they are trying to get through to him. No one is above the team.

As far as Carter goes...it would be a surprise if they traded him. That said, it's odd that his name was floated around in the Micah Parsons trade discussions and now all this other "buzz" about being traded. If the Eagles do trade him, that would have to mean there is something seriously wrong...either with his physical health (shoulders?) or attitude or something. Howie would never trade a blue-chip DL away just for money reasons.

There are a lot of fans of other teams that are suggesting their teams should give up something unrealistic to get Carter. The Eagles moved up from #10 to #9 to draft him. Carter is legit and other teams game plan to deal with him when he's on the field. He is not some bust that has failed to live up to potential. The Eagles will not consider any of these ridiculous trade scenarios that are being posted on social media.
