Do you pay 2 DTs $60,000,000 combined a year?

The cap went up 7.9% for next year to 301 million. Assuming a similar increase for 2027, that would make it 325 million.

60 million would comprise 18 1/2 % of the cap for two players at the same position, with that percentage expected to decrease as the cap continues to rise

If you're offered two 1s a 2 and a good player, or something similar, do you make the deal?

Or do you sign Carter for $140 million for 4 years with 80 guaranteed?

Sure, why not it's not my money? And add another 15-20 for Ojomo

The cap may double with the next set of TV contracts.

Revenue is going to go up so much that many believe the owners will lock the players out to try to stop sharing 51/49.

Two elite, young DT’s that have the potential to be a legendary duo for years to come?

No brainer.

Greed... the American way.

Good question.

Hmmm, I think I would. The Eagles build through their Lines, O and D. Those positions are very important to them. So if they have 2 stud D Linemen, gotta pay them.

Yes if it makes your defense better. It’s not my money.

It is "your" cap space though. I know Howie is good but eventually he has to pay the Piper.

Whatever happens I believe Howie can handle it.

I trust Howie to make the right decision. He works the books thinking about the next 2-3 years and knows better than all of us.

Defense wins Championships. Pay 3 of them $30 million a year. Super Bowl!

stack the middle of the line and draft yound DE's. Nolan Smith can take a hike, If phillips gets 30 a year Smith would get something similar

Are they "elite"?

The pass rush was mid and the run defense was in the bottom half of the league last year. I would expected better numbers from 2 Elite linemen .

I think they have to.

The Eagles willingly crossed this bridge when they drafted DT's this high in consecutive years. It's not easy to get high talent high impact players and when you do you have to keep them. So they'll have to figure out how to construct a defense with all the money invested in DT and CB.

I agree, keep loading up with a young DE every year with one in the first four rounds.

For 2 number 1 picks a number 2 and a good player I would trade just about anyone. That said I trust Howie.

Sign him.

Yes

I think they will. Is it smart? I do not know.

To have no real good DE, no Offensive line backup (Every backup offensive lineman from 2025 is leaving to somewhere also), so many other holes!!

Eagles biggest problem is lack of balance ....and harmony between positions. It's all or nothing.

It's smart keeping your best players

Why not ? Davis and Carter are beast and play together since years. Why to separate them ?

IT all about how much money does the team invest in any one position. If they invest a lot at DT position, then what other positions will suffer??? Can not have everything.

When I look at the cap.....QB salary is 51 million in 2026. AJ 29 million in 2026. Barkley 16.75 million. Etc..Etc..

We urgently need multiple Offensive linemen and some DEs. Draft alone may not fix all the issues. Before the draft Howie is trying to find some bodies to fill the holes, but it is not easy. Salaries went up. Therefore ...Quality of 2026 squad is a suspect. In comparison to 2025 squad..I suspect it may not be as good.

Given that they’ve given JD the contract they have. Yes they absolutely can and should pay a big amount for 2 DTs. Unless they are really concerned about Carter’s maturity or the shoulder injury then they absolutely have to pay him. He’s a game changer and a game wrecker.

The draft presented them with two prototypical DTs with rare talent.

I would love it if one of them had equivalent talent as an edge, instead. But those players go top 5. So I'd rather they get massively talented players at any position when available than force an average talent at a more premium one.
