Posted April 25Apr 25 We (currently) have 2 picks remaining:Rd 5 (compensatory pick 178)Rd 6 (pick 197)Not a whole lot to work with. Howie typical MO is to trade down and acquire more picks later. But at this point, does that really make sense? The players aren't likely to be any better than priority undrafted free agents they'll be able to sign (especially in a weak class). Unless someone like Kilgore falls to 178 (not likely), I think the best strategy might be to see if he could find teams willing to deal 2027 picks for those (e.g. a 2027 4th for our 5th, a 2027 5th for our 6th). What do you think?
April 25Apr 25 We still need players for this year. Now is when your scouting needs to come through with players.Don't like that Howie traded away so many day 3 picks.
April 25Apr 25 Meh, blah, yuck.Keep the 5, dump the 6, OR, use both to get higher up in the 5th if you have your eyes set on someone.
April 25Apr 25 C'mon Howie, package those 5th and 6th rounders for Jalon Kilgore and get us some much needed safety depth
April 25Apr 25 The Safety Wizniewski looks like a camp body. Already had an Achilles injury and foot surgery. Sounds like an in the box only safety. Good run defender but not a good cover guy. This really was an unimpressive draft.Maybe Howie will take a flier on that Nigerian monster, Uar Bernard. Stick him in the lab for 2 years with that OT they drafted. Might grow a couple of game day dominators. Who knows.
April 25Apr 25 Birds just snagged Uar Bernard from Nigeria. Hopefully this year's version of Jordan Mailata.
April 25Apr 25 A couple of posts on the Giants MB reference that Safety, Don. They say that he's a possible sleeper pick and a really good value for a 7th. Take that for what it's worth. I know nothing about him.

As long as his wheels are back to 100% (Achilles injuries always worry me about the recovery) then maybe he'll develop into a great player. If not, well, the team needs ST demons too. As always I know we'll have to wait and see how they all come along over the next few years.
