Posted July 3Jul 3 Free agency will dictate most of the needs. Whether the Eagles fill the holes by resigning their own, free agency, or the draft there will be needs, some of them critical. Sure things - Cornerback - We have 4 free agents at the position. Starter Ric Woolen, likely roster backup Jonathan Jones, Jakorian Bennett, and Kalee Ringo. At least 2 will make the 2026 team and losing Woolen is almost a sure thing. Tight end - For the 3rd year in a row starter Dallas Goedert will be a free agent. third times a charm with 2nd round pick Eli Stowers waiting in the wings. Then there's Johnny Mundt and Grant Calcaterra. Calcaterra making the 2026 roster is a quesiton mark, but barring injury Mundt will be on the squad. He could be re-signerd, nevertheless tight end will be a 2027 need. DT - Major Ojomo will be gone. The Eagles just won't be able to afford him and keep both CArter and Davis. Likely - QB - both of the back-ups are free agents. McKee might come back if he doesn't see an opportuinty to compete for a starting job elsewhere and Andy dalton will be 100 years old. S - AlLready seen as the weakest position on defense and Epps is a free agent. Safety isn't in th esure thing category because Howie making a trade for a starting safety like he did for CJGJ could happen beofre openning day. Edge - Nolan Smith's play makes him a question mark while both Espenesa, and Ebiketie are free agents. Any or all of them could re-sign but keeping allof them is a long shot. RB - Tank Bigsby is a free agent. Last year he showed he could be the #1 on quite a few teams. Love toi re-sign him, but the visions of a starting job might be too big a pull on the player. Maybe - OT - Will lame Johnson be back for the 2027 season? Will Big Fred come back even though he's a free agent again? ig Will Markeo Bell show he can be Lame's replaements? Is Cameron Willams the real thing? G - Steen is a free agent. Dickerson's health and desire to expent his carreer are questions. If either leave relying on Hinton and Micah Morris to both step in is a bridge too far. WR - The Eagles have a flock of FA wide receivers, with Hollywood Brown being the most notable. DeVonte, Wicks, and Lemon will be here. No one else but Hollywood is a sure thing for the 2026 roster, but as it now stands adding some depth could be a need. Howie will have a 1, 2, comp3, 4, 5, and 2-7's to work with. My way to early thinking is - 1 - CB2 - S3C - TE4 - DT5 - Edge7 -QB7 - OL

I guarantee our first round pick will be the best prospect available at OT, Edge or DT rather than CB or Safety.Corner and Safety will be in pretty much the same position as they were this year, I expect another Vet free agent or trade to fill the vacant spots, with maybe late mid round picks to fill out the roster. TE they'll expect Stowers to step up if Goedert leaves, Mundt probably gets resigned as the blocker, there'll be someone available in free agency to fill out the roster. QB, the only way this becomes a major need is if they move on from Hurts, otherwise McKee and or Payton will be the back ups, if McKee decides to take his chances on the open market then they'll bring in another Dalton style Vet (or maybe wait for McKee to realise he has no market), and maybe take another late round development guy to put on the practice squad for a year see if there's anything there to work with. If they decide to part ways with Hurts, it does at this early stage look a decent draft for QB's in '27, but obviously the field of projected high picks will thin as the college season progresses and prospects either enhance their stock or flame out, but it probably wouldn't be the worst year to pick up a mid to late first QB (but if you are picking late in the first then the question would be why are you moving on).Running Back and WR, unless Saquon decides to call it a career as he hits 30, I expect Bigsby to leave or at least test the market. I see another free agent Vet to take on back up duties (unless Shipley breaks out this year), maybe a late round pick to compete for RB3 in training camp.WR, I don't see a need unless Mannion really does use WR #4 & #5 a lot more than we have done the last 10 years, it'll be late round flyers and last hurrah Vats.

Stowers and Mundt hardly is cause for optimism4 hours ago, Cochis_Calhoun said:QB, the only way this becomes a major needi hardly think a 7th round pick can be interpreted as a major need.
