September 9Sep 9 It takes the first 4 weeks to just see what the team actually is. They don't use preseason for anything other than practice squad try outs anymore.Howie will make improvements as they see obvious needs arise. Maybe. Hopefully. 🙏

September 9Sep 9 I would have expected him to win this season’s Super Bowl by now. He’s definitely failing.
September 10Sep 10 Only thing I'm quasi-surprised about was no low-level trades. Guess Howie got tired of the Jakorian Bennett's and John Metchie's of the world.

I suppose Sirianni has a part in it too, but I'd bet it's more about Howie. He's either holding onto them for a hopeful trade or he is refusing to look like a dufus for trading for Dalton then cutting him...or look like a dufus if he cuts McKee, keeps Dalton, Dalton sucks, McKee ends up looking better somewhere else.

He's always looking for improvement evewn if its slightly incremental. That hasn't been the case this year. Example - we're mostly fairly down on the tight end room, particularly with Goedert's injury history. Either Howie and Co are higher on Stowers that we are or we need some reinforcements.

We go into the season with several free agents to be who are important to this team. Starters (Steen, Epps, Woolen) Wouldn't expct a re-signing of Woolen or Epps but wish he's have extended Stten. Key backups - (Ojomo, Bigsby, the 2 E's at Edge)Others - all the tight ends. Both back-up QB's Then there's roster strength. My opinion is we could have upgraded safety, backup corner, and tight end. All of that's a long way of saying, I'm surprised at the lack of Howie making moves. Ok to your point, surprised there's been nothing since the CArter signing.

This year he did in fact extend players that were set to become free agents. And months ago made trades and free agent signings at multiple positions. Did it occur to you that he's happy with the roster? Yes, he's always looking to add. He may sign Ertz. He may make a trade after week 1 like last year when he traded for Bigsby. But the roster is good. You shouldn't have an expectation that every August or September if Howie hasn't made deals then it's a problem. The roster is SUPPOSED to be set by now.

Perhaps by Kendall or Morris, or someone acquired next year. Why would he extend Woolen before he's played a snap? Silly.Epps is a JAG, same as Steen, no need to extend now.Goedert has been year to year for a bit now, he may be gone after this year.Nolan Smith may be gone like Dean, he hasn't proven he deserves a new contract. The backup QBs are mid at best and don't deserve extensions.Ojomo will cash in big like Milton Williams did.Come on man, this is silly.

Tua is out as well. Let this unfold.

Let this unfold. The Falcons already have invested so much capital on Penix that they probably aren't gonna make a trade for a QB, but I can see the Seahawks potentially making a move considering they are trying to defend their title. My guess is they probably will stay put with Drew Lock for now, considering how he played in relief of Darnold against the Patriots, but I agree with Procus here that we have to wait this out, as we have likely not yet seen the last of injuries to starting QBs across the league.
