Eagles injury update: Some key players return to practice

Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) was able to practice on Friday afternoon after missing the start of the week.

The Eagles saw several key players return to practice on Friday afternoon, including WR1 DeVonta Smith.

Smith missed Thursday’s practice with a hamstring injury but looked pretty good during the early portion of Friday’s practice open to reporters.

Smith, 27, is coming off a great performance on Sunday in Tennessee. He had 10 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ 24-20 win over the Titans.

In addition to Smith, running backs Tank Bigsby (abdomen) and Will Shipley (foot) also returned to practice on Friday after missing the start of the week.

Here's the full injury report from Friday:

DNP: WR Hollywood Brown (ankle), TE Dallas Goedert (knee)

Limited: WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring), RB Tank Bigsby (abdomen), RB Will Shipley (foot), OLB Jonathan Greenard (pectoral)

Full: RB Saquon Barkley (stinger), DT Jalen Carter (wrist), S Drew Mukuba (knee), OG Tyler Steen (shoulder)

Both WR Hollywood Brown (ankle) and TE Dallas Goedert (knee) did not practice. Goedert is expected to miss a few weeks with an MCL sprain.

All four players who were limited to start the week — RB Saquon Barkley (stinger), DT Jalen Carter (wrist), OLB Jonathan Greenard (pectoral), S Drew Mukuba (knee) — were practicing again on Friday. Barkley had an MRI after Sunday’s game but said he's ready to play in Week 3.

We’ll see if Greenard is able to make his Eagles debut on Monday night or if he’ll have to wait another week.

Meanwhile, the Bears have been without their top two quarterbacks the first two days of the practice week. It's looking more and more like Case Keenum will get the start on Monday night:
