8 hours ago8 hr Well I was wrong....This is a 3-14 team who needs vast changes, Jalen's season is over, mistakes huge ones have been made, a brand has been damaged. If this holds true Nick is done, Vic retires, players will be moved. This is a leaderless team with players not even being ready for the snap, they don't care and there is zero accountability.Lurie will be impacted by his brand being badly dinged all because of how the Eagles handled the Jalen Hurts blood clots concerns and now even deeper with players quitting too. It looks really bad and reeks IMO of a GM that believes he knows best and it's something that has been bugging me for years now. From the team restricting public access to practices, interviewing coaches, how they report injuries or most important meddle with the HC and his staff. Not saying Nick is not without his faults and they are massive constantly present and I've wanted a better HC for years now and finally its going to happen. The next HC hire should be done by Jeff alone no input from Howie and his team, the next coach will be given some more say in his team.Trades - In season best care scenario, take the cap hits and free up future cap space while getting youngerMoro Ojomo DT - Not too long after the Commies beat the Eagles to give them a 2-6 record Howie sends Moro to the Jags for #91.Hollywood Brown WR - KC would like another receiving threat and come get someone they know offering 2028 4thCam Jurgens IOL - Confirmed 10/7/2026!!! To the Ravens for a #169 and 2028 2nd!A rough season or two in row including this current one is to be expected and needed to bring a real reset because the product we've seen the last couple of years is near unwatchable.Grant Udinski is hired to be the next Eagles HC. Lurie will be putting some restraints on Howie to get a high quality prospect like Grant to agree, he'll get to make calls about the players he wants and the coaches he needs. With this power Grant moves quickly taping Josh McCown to be OC, who he worked with in Minnesota. Josh is a highly regarded assistant with a history of player development, designing and executing plays, Grant though will be calling the plays. Grant isn't vested in defensive assistants so Howie hires back someone the team is familiar with Jim Schwartz to be DC again.Retirements: 36.7m to start withLane Johnson RT - Lane has lost a step and clearly doesn't fit in a zone blocking scheme he knows this and already has stated this would probably be his last year and it is. He walks away early for personal reasons and we all wish him the best. Post June 1st designation which frees up 8.8 million in cap space. Retirement confirmed.Landon Dickerson LG - I believe he's coming to reality even in a system better suited for him he would be nothing better than below average and he doesn't want to go out like that. Post June 1st designation freeing up 8.6 million for 2027Zach Ertz TE - One of favorite Eagles of all time but his time has come even he realizes it.Re-Signing: 54+/- millionQuinyon Mitchell CB - The kid is a baller easily being one of the best cover corners in the league locking down half of the field consistently. 5 years 178m extension, Howie uses the 5th year option but give a massive signing bonus with little impact on 2027 cap space.Devonta Smith WR - Clearly he's a top tier receiver a true professional on and off the field, after 2027 there isn't anymore guaranteed money and he wants to be an Eagle for life! 4 years extension 125m saving 4.5m in cap space for 2027Tariq Woolen CB - He's been up and down this year and before the season I believed he would not be able to re-sign but now I don't see him getting a deal anywhere else. Plus I would like to see him in Schwartz's scheme. 1 year 12m Tyler Steen RG - While not great at any one thing he is by far the best interior lineman on the roster and the Eagles can't replace 4/5 of the line in one off-season. 2 years 23m 8m applies to 2027 cap.Tanner McKee QB - He's given one year to see what he can do from start to finish which won't be much. 1 year 4 millionCut/Let go:Dallas Goedert TE - Howie likes to play the one year deal game with Dallas but in a reset year assets need to be focused towards getting younger and saving money to sign them.Tank Bigsby RB - Like his effort but he'll want to be a starter AJ Epenesa Edge - Less than mediocre depthFred Johnson OT - Reliable depthJakorian Bennett CB - A jokeJohnathon Mundt TE - Brought in as strong blocker, he blowsArnold Ebikite Edge - Decent rotational pieceJonathan Jones CB - Another ok rotational pieceKenny Moore II DB - Tried play him out of potential and shown nothingFree-Agency: 38m.+/-Steve Avila LG - Dickerson is a shell of himself and LG no matter who they try to put there they've been dominated. Steve is a gigantic upgrade and a perfect scheme fit having come from McVay's Rams he has elite mobility skills which is rare with his huge size 6'4 335 lbs frame. Stout in climbing to the second level and is elite at executing blocks in open space his run blocking is constantly ranked in the top 5 while also being very good in pass protection. Another huge plus is Steve's versatility he can play both guard or be asked to move inside to center, and he's a dog. 4 years 82m, 15m 2027 cap hitDavis Allen TE - There is no veteran TE on the roster and Stowers clearly will need more time to develop. Davis is the bigger 6'6 245 lbs TE who physical play has improved to a point where he's considered solid blocker while still being a reliable receiving option. A three down TE not a specialist who can't block Davis solidifies the starter position giving Drew someone still young turning 26 in Feb to develop chemistry with. 3 years 22m, 6m 2027 cap hitDane Belton SS - With the adoption of a the wide-9 scheme the need for safeties that can quickly come downhill and be an effective tackler is a must. Dane at 6'1 205 lbs finally bring a safety with some size with stopping ability considered an elite tackling machine that strength alone vastly improves the secondary. An exceptional run defender he comes down hill in a hurry wrapping up ball carriers reliably this guy is not soft. He also has a knack for the ball generating multiple turnovers. 3 years 20m, 5m 2027 cap hit Draft: Eagles own the 3rd pick1.(#3) Drew Mestemaker QB - With an entirely new coaching staff they're going to want to get their to build around year one and fate sometimes aligns with reality and here it does. Drew I've had my eye on since he walked on to North Texas where he won the Burtsworth Trophy for nation's best former walk-on. At 6'4 215 lbs he a bit light but has the frame to add on, while also well above average athletic ability. Possessing a gunslinger mentality with a near elite arm to match it fitting balls into tight windows with effortless motion. He's trusts his receivers throwing with extremely good anticipation and with a quick release he shows no fear throwing across the middle of the field or really anywhere, he can hit spot on the field with excellent accuracy. Drew deep throws can be a thing of beauty with his ability to really push the ball downfield easily. While not considered a dual threat QB he is mobile and a more than willing scrambler with a little juke to him. Last he's a fantastic leader who shows his strong vocal skills who never shrugs inwards between series he interacts with everyone even the defense, but when its time he is laser focused but with an amazingly calm demeanor he has what scouts call a "slow heartbeat."Trade! The Jets are in a bind they have the picks but wanted the QB the Eagles selected compounding that even if he was there they can't develop QB's to save their life. With Jalen the Jets get a proven still young QB that knows how to win and the Jets will have decent talent surrounding him. Jalen decides to waive his no trade clause to make this happen, IMO he's done with everything from the medical issues to always having to prove himself and just wants a fresh start. Using the Wilson to Denver trade as a blueprint but for far less the Jets offer Jeremy Ruckert TE #5, #10, #37, #106 and a 2028 4th for Jalen Hurts QB & #237. 3m cap hit.For the Eagles I think its just time, the FO wants to be a west coast high powered offense and Jalen maybe that guy, but I don't feel the fans would be willing to give him two more years to learn a whole new coaching staff and scheme. Plus I really don't feel like any real prospect for HC will want to have Hurts as the person who most directly impacts their career, since they didn't choose him. For the fans no more need to argue anymore if he's good or not or if it's Nick or Jalen, a whole reset fixes this all. Future cap relief. Trade is a win/win1.(#5) Jordan Seaton OT - Any HC worth their weight is going to prioritize protecting his QB and 2025 and 2026 has shown depth is essential and the o-line depth is really bad. Jordan is a former 5-star recruit and at 6'5 310 he has the elite length, mass, athletic skills with best in class lateral mobility OC's crave. Possessing exceptional power able to displace vertically using his strong gripping strength to drive opponents off the ball and his punches deliver a jarring blow. With a top notch anchor ability he easily absorbs power and bull rush moves as he keeps the blindside of QB clean while also providing clear lanes for them to strike. A mauler in the run game Lance clears the road clear through to the second level and once he has his hands locked on defenders they are neutralized. I project him to compete at RT where he would easily beat out Bell truly being a massive upgrade who can be trusted to be left out on a island.Trade! Pittsburgh has the team all they need is a QB long term and offer #24, #88 & #157 & 2028 1st for #10 & #2221.(#24) Kade Pieper OC/OG - Howie banked on not one, not two, but three injured lineman to return to form for a second straight year and that was a clear mistake and the current starting center Kendall is mediocre at best. Kade at 6'3 300 lbs. is a super athletic effective right guard, but he projects to be an even better center at the next level. Quick out of his stance while displaying extremely good hand usage he displaces rushers effortlessly and his ability to get to the second level is elite. Kade is lock-down in pass protection providing the time allowing just two pressures with zero sacks he takes excellent angles and he finishes blocks. In the run game his is a monster creating lanes for runners mauling through opponents with an anchor that near elite. Pieper has impressive lateral agility displaying a crazy ability to slide and pull along the line he'll be huge in the screen game. Most important he is a natural and respected leader and is a finalist for the Lombardi Award which recognizes a player who best exemplifies the character, discipline, and leadership of Vince Lombardi.2.(#35) Zabien Brown CB - Woolen is a solid starting corner opposite of Mitchell, but he's on another one year deal and depth is major concern, Howie has been trying to get a long term solution but for one reason or another it just haven't worked out. Zabien while not the size of Tariq or as fast is a former 5-star recruit at 6'0 205 lbs he has the size with top end speed to come down hill fast to deliver the tackle that Schwartz's scheme demands. Displaying the elite processing skills showing impressive route recognition ability Zabien mirrors his receiver staying "sticky" on them. A smart physical corner he will not shy away from laying the wood he's known as a strong tackler that's perfect for press-man coverage. That physicality translates well when defending against the run being one of the highest graded doing so. The intelligence shows when he's rarely fooled generating already two career pick-6's, he's a natural play-maker and even better a leader of men!Trade! Howie feels pretty confident in how the draft will fall and takes a call from Tampa Bay looking to trade up for a receiver and they offer #45 & 2028 3rd for #372.(#45) Samson Okunlola OG - This position has arguably been the worst across the entire offense with a rotating door of players getting a shot, this is the 3rd and final long term piece to the line rebuild. Samson is a monster 6'6 335 lbs prototypical guard another 5-star recruit who easily has the best moment skills for nearly any o-line prospect in the draft. With his elite lateral agility, length, height, power and titanic explosiveness Samson absolutely destroys defenders driving them often 10-15 yards off the ball. He's about equal in both run and pass protection with strong anchor to defend against power moves but with such high athletic prowess and rare short area quickness with lightning like range easily creating lanes well into the second level. Incredibly raw he's got all the physical skills to dominate, but he'll need time and coaching to work on his hand usage, leverage, and foot work, but it is all there.Trade! Howie sees a chance to address another problem position that has cost them games the last couple of years. Eagles offer #88, #104 & #157 to the Vikings for #67 3.(#67) Jaylen McClain FS - The Eagles literally currently have the worst pair of safeties in the league and having DeJean playing there some times has clearly over-whelmed him. Jaylen is a perfect fit for Schwartz's defense with size 6'1 205 lbs. a legit 4.35 forty speed and physicality required for his safeties. A top notch tackler he's probably the best at his position in this class rarely if ever does Jaylen ever whiff or take bad angles. Sticky in coverage he's able to mirror the receiver step for step and extremely smart he breaks down plays ultra fast driving down on passes from depth, which is important because Schwartz would keep in the deep center-field. A leader and competitor he leads by example while never shying from being vocal to get his guys in place.3.(#91) LJ Martin RB - Saquon is still the work horse and with a solid line he should still be capable of putting up good numbers and he's a good leader and teacher and will be the perfect mentor. LJ is the prototypical big back 6'2 220 lbs that brings the physical prowess with exceptional one-cut ability to move the sticks and power to set the tone. In a zone-scheme he could become a real force and tough to bring down if he gains momentum going into the 2nd or 3rd level of defenders. As a receiver he has shown to soft hands being a threat in the screen game or as the hot read. Another bonus is he's a vast upgrade in pass and run blocking ability being more than willing to engage rushers. A fierce competitor his desire to have the ball in his hands is undeniable his fiery demeanor to put the game on his shoulders is real and his passion is contagious.3.(#97) Anthony Smith Edge - Edge has been quite unimpressive and quite undersized and can stop the run albeit 4 yards deep the must get bigger and stronger. Anthony is the first step in this direction being 6'6 285 lbs he's possibly the long term solution on the strong side keeping Nolan Smith Jr. on the weak side where's best. A strong run defender his win rate is top notch along with very strong tackling ability which this defense seems to have forgotten how to do. A proven effective pass-rusher Anthony brings double digit sacks potential to a line struggling to hit double digits 6 games in.4.(#106) Peter Clark TE - The scheme requires multiple TE's to deploy the formations that requires real depth and currently only Stowers is signed long term. Peter is a perfect scheme fit at 6'6 265 lbs being an excellent two-phase play-maker who's competent and balance in both receiving and blocking. An exceptionally reliable as a receiver he boasts a 2.8% drop rate while being targeted frequently and in the red-zone he is an absolute threat. Known as top rate blocker he'll use his size and strength to dominate while being someone defenses can't overlook.5.(#139) Eric Singleton WR - For the first time in a very long time the top 4 receivers are actually good to very good all the unit needs is real deep threat. Eric also brings legit 4.3 speed and out of the slot will create match up nightmares he too will be dangerous in screens, sweeps, jet motions, etc. His explosive first step will catch defenders off guard and his long speed means once beat they ain't catching up. He also brings a new weapon to the return game.5.(#164) John Nestor CB - Drafting Brown was a good start to addressing a very thin secondary. Jalen is very highly graded corner that matches Schwartz press man coverage and is and excellent tackler, he will be stud on special teams. 2028 picks 1, 1(Pit), 1(NE), 2, 2(Balt), 3, 3(TB) 4, 4(NYJ) 4(KC) 5, 6, 7 = 13 picks in a very strong 2028 class they'll have the ammo to concentrate on possible needs at DT, Edge, MLB, WR & RB Depth chart:QB: Mckee, Mestemaker, PaytonRB: Barkley, Martin, Shipley, BlueTE: Allen, Stowers, Ruckert, ClarkWR: Smith, Lemon, Wicks, Cooper, Covey, Singleton Jr.LT: Mailata, BellLG: Avila, Okunlola, LamkinOC: Pieper, Kendall, MajorsRG: Steen, Okunlola, MorrisRT: Seaton, BellLDE: Greenard, HuntDT: Carter, Young, BrenardDT: Davis, RobinsonRDE: N. Any potential new HC would drool with all these picks while having the potential to get a bulk of their guy year one. Under the right leadership the team has the talent to quickly return to the post-season they just need a few pieces, some player accountability, and some multi year stability. The offense needs a lot of change and focus especially along the line which needed significant investments in it to form a young core with 4/5 under the age of 27 that will protect the new franchise QB for years. With being an early 1st round QB he'll get the luxury of time something Jalen was never given but will be needed. Receivers stay the same for the most part and should be a very good unit overall. Tight-end gets a huge influx of talent and can now be relied upon on to both block while also being real receiving threats. The backs have the crafty vet and his eventual replacement and should be real threat out of the back-field again. The defense IMO has more than enough talent to be dominate again with a new scheme that will let them loose maximizing players abilities, I personally would be excited to see what Smith Jr., Carter, DeJean & Roolen could become. The d-line is already built to attack the backfield the wide-9 would just maximize their potential IMO. Linebacker isn't a high priority in Jim's scheme however he gets core filled with talent. The secondary could be the strength of the defense with now having safeties and most of all depth across the board. Special teams gets a massive influx of young talent and after watching how pathetic this unit has been this year it also is gets new coaching and leadership. The kickers have both been very good this year and is currently the only positives game in and out.
