Eagles vs. Bengals Final Injury Report: Fletcher Cox questionable, 3 others ruled out

Week 3 game updates.

The Philadelphia Eagles issued their third and final official injury report on Friday in advance of their Week 3 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fletcher Cox has been ruled QUESTIONABLE.

Cox was limited in Friday’s light practice after sitting out on Wednesday and Thursday. Doug Pederson indicated Cox will be a game-time decision. The guess here is that Cox won’t be able to suit up. If that’s the case, the Eagles will be down to Malik Jackson, Javon Hargrave, and Hassan Ridgeway at defensive tackle. The team could look to elevate veteran T.Y. McGill from the practice squad to be their fourth guy at the position.

The Eagles missing Cox, who accounts for their highest cap number in 2020, isn’t ideal. Then again, this is a player with 3.5 sacks and 11 quarterback hits in his last 21 games. He has zero sacks and zero hits through two games this season.

Three players have been ruled OUT: Alshon Jeffery, Jalen Reagor, and Rudy Ford.

On the subject of Jeffery’s return, Pederson said that he’s "optimistic moving forward in the next couple weeks.” Derrick Gunn reports Jeffery might be able to play in Week 4 but Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers is looking like the safer bet.

Reagor is potentially out until November after having thumb surgery on Thursday. The Eagles have yet to put him on injured reserve, though, so the door for a quicker-than-expected return is open ... for now, at least. One would think that J.J. Arcega-Whiteside might start at the X receiver role with Reagor out. That’ll probably go well.

Ford being out hurts the Eagles’ special teams unit. Philly already lost co-captain Craig James to injured reserve. Not ideal.

With Isaac Seumalo going on IR earlier this week, Nate Herbig is set to start in his place at left guard. It remains to be seen if the Eagles will truly go with Matt Pryor at right guard or go with Jack Driscoll or Jamon Brown instead.

CINCINNATI BENGALS INJURY REPORT (FRIDAY)

Bengals star defensive tackle Geno Atkins is OUT after missing the entire week of practice. With Atkins not playing and Mike Daniels questionable, the Bengals are looking thin on the interior defensive line. Could be a weak point for the Eagles to attack.

The Bengals had to place starting tight end C.J. Uzomah on IR after he tore his Achilles in Week 2. Cincy’s depth behind him is also looking thin.
