vsptroops Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 While he should have been fired like 2 or 3 years ago, why was he appointed the GM in the off season (allowed to make the moves that he did, including trading Hopkins) if the owner had any inkling he was gonna give him the ax? 2
Mike030270 Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Wonder if Hopkins will say something on social media 1
Bwestbrook36 Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Way to let your team go to sheet before finally having enough of that jack arse 1
CaliEagle Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Should've been fired immediately when he traded Hopkins for David Johnson. Should've never had GM duties to begin with. 2
VaBeach_Eagle Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Not at all shocked, should have happened sooner.
EaglesIreland Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Surprised it took this long as even with him gone the Texans have a draft mess next year and beyond because bill o Brien sold the farm. I think he stayed on longer than he should have partially because Bob McNair died and it was a case of not wanting to make any serious changes. I hope desean Watson get let lose and shows what he can do.
toolg Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 They should've fired O'Brien before he trashed the roster. He traded away Nuk, and the 1st and 2nd round draft picks next year. The team is a mess that's going to take years to fix. I don't know why anyone would take the open coaching job. 1

Chances are that if Deshaun Watson would've complained, nothing would've been done. But, at least they finally got it right. That team chokes in the playoffs and O Brien is way too emotional to be an effective GM.

And it's been said for the mess the Jets are (they look like they will go 0-16), if Gase is fired after the season as many expect will now happen, that job is likely going to be WAY more attractive than the Texans especially given all the injuries the Jets have had.
