Will that kill whatever savings we have? For either update?

I haven't asked about Bluesky, (though I'd rather that name be GreenSky), but I'll look into that question. 

I could do the upgrade myself and save a few dollars, but with everything I have going on here at home, if there was a glitch (which there was last time), it would potentially be a nightmare scenario where I wouldn't be able to dedicate much time to fixing whatever the glitch was. So it's better to pay Mark to do it, and let him deal with any issues that may pop up.

It's not super expensive to pay him to do it and the software itself, is free (since I already pay the annual license fee). Plus, since the board is generating revenue, those expenses are tax write offs for the boards operating expenses. So it all evens out in the end.

As it sits right now, it's either our version of Invision or X. If it's X, we can't do anything. If it's us, we can upgrade but like I mentioned, I've been told that version 5.04 will address a bunch of bugs, so I want to wait until that's ready. No need to upgrade now, then again in a week or month or whatever. 

So for now, we just have to deal with it as best as we can and hopefully the upgrade will resolve the issue.

FWIW, the X links are embedding now.  Just need to select paste as plain text when prompted.

That works sometimes, others not. It's like we have to do all these tricks to get it to work. Refresh the page then start again, paste as plain, different things work sometimes and other times don't.

Unrelated to the EMB, but my X app is glitchy too. New phone, latest updated app, uninstall/reinstall and still problems. Every time I open it the first time, it crashes. I have to close the app and open again and it works.

Board is loading slow for me today

Seems to be getting slower for me lol

I've noticed a new problem where it'll be slow after clicking "Submit Reply" and the post gets duplicated. It's happened to me once and I've seen it happen to others as well

I'm going to have Mark do the upgrade to v5, that may take a week to get it completed. It's a big upgrade so it'll also require the skin to be re-done for the new version. 

If the problems still persist after that, I'll go to GoDaddy. Looking at the server logs, I don't see any issues there, but it could be caused by a different website on our shared server. 

This is just all happening at a time where I have multiple other things that I can't set aside. So hopefully with a little patience, we'll get this resolved soon.

Take your time, personal priorities first. We're just reporting here to track.

Maybe a new skin can include the 2 Lombardi trophies though.

I'm on with them now, to see if it's the server or possibly our Invision. It seems (to me), like some sluggishness began after the previous upgrade. That's why I think the new upgrade, when that can be done, might solve the issue. But it's a full upgrade so that takes a little more time, effort and (unfortunately), money. 

Ok, GoDaddy says that there's nothing with the servers, so I'll have Mark go ahead with the upgrade to v5, and we'll go from there. 

That means he has to re-do the skins, which may mean some differences that will have to be worked out like we did a couple of years ago. So it may be a bit of a process. 

I'm not sure when the lagging started but it was definitely more noticeable recently

Twitter/X not embedding happened around the start of FA which was such perfect timing

Getting BlueSky to embed would be a nice backup and/or alternative

Pretty sure everyone will agree we're fine with redoing the skins if it means the board works properly
