Howie Roseman was recently named one of the top-five general managers in the NFL and his ability to manipulate the salary cap is a major reason why.

Even after acquiring Darius Slay via trade and signing Javon Hargrave, the Eagles currently have the third-most salary cap space out of 32 NFL teams heading into the draft.

Approximately $9 million will be set aside to cover rookie wages, while Roseman will likely look to carry significant cap space into the 2020 season to use on extensions or possible trades.

According to Over The Cap, most of the Eagles salary cap is allocated on the offensive side of the ball, while the linebacker position is the least important, as the Birds’ current group of linebackers under contract have cap figures under $900,000, and their cap figures average $773,661.

Im sure they will end the season with most of that cap savings to carry over into 2021 which they are already projected over 20 plus mill.

Yeah but getting rid of Desean and Alshon is almost 13 million in cap savings right there and if Kelce retires, that's another 10 million.  So that's 23 million right there and....if they roll the 27 million over they will be more than fine.

Yeah after the rollover you need for 2021 and Jeffrey dump they don't really have that much.

Howie’s ability to manipulate the cap has never been in question.  If only his talent evaluation abilities were on the same level.

Anyway, tonight is a clean slate.  Top of the 1st ... 0-0.  Let’s hope for a lead off HR!  The time is now for him to begin showing the NFL world everything he has learned regarding that 2nd ability and restock the roster with some promising young talent ... hopefully adding a difference-maker or two in the process.
