Hawkeye Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Longtime Philly sports columnist John Smallwood has died. He covered all kinds of sports for both the Inquirer and Daily News and was a regular on Daily News Live. He also wrote the book on Alan Iverson. Good writer and by all accounts a good guy. https://www.inquirer.com/sports/john-smallwood-death-philadelphia-daily-news-inquirer-nba-basketball-20201207.html 3
xzmattzx Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 This is what I remember John Smallwood for: 2
Alpha_TATEr Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 damn that sucks. really enjoyed his work, both in print and on the sport shows.
Passepartout Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 May he RIP there! Thoughts and prayers are with his family!
Gern Blanston Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Smallwood, Jasner and Conlin - I remember all of them well from Daily News Live. Obviously Conlins career/life took a left hand turn there... How many of those "DNL regulars" are even still working for the Daily News or Inquirer anymore? Think most have either been let go or have retired... Les Bowen, Marcus Hayes, Paul Domowich..?
The_Omega Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 RIP John Smallwood. Richard Smallwood is alive and well. Ask my wife.
