Wentz actually had great success with the RPO in previous years. This year they took it completely out of the playbook for Wentz.

Wentz has more rushing touchdowns this year than he’s ever had in his career. He also has his second most rushing yards.

Again, there has to be a reason. They aren't going to just not run plays if they work. It's very possible that Wentz doesn't like those plays.

Thats what we dont know. It is just odd and we all can see it how different Doug calls a game with Wentz compared to other QBs. Its almost like he finally sees the light to what helps protect a QB. Its just so strange but so noticeable.

What has Wentz shown you THIS YEAR that leads you to believe he’s better than Hurts

Go back and watch some of this closer games (Baltimore, Steelers) when wentz does everything he can to get this team a win and he’s got no receivers, no offensive line and a coach that can’t put together a game plan to save his Fin life, yeah, they were loses, but I saw heart and guts from wentz in those games...and not to take away from hurts tonite I’m happy with him too...but Doug hasn’t called a game with more than 10-15 rushing attempts since tonite and half his passing attempts ended up being runs...

in whole hurts will be a good mobile qb, and right now that’s a benefit because the oline...but wentz overall is a much better qb

Glad you guys are happy, Howie is 1-0 in his quest to be back next year.

Exactly. Fantastic runs but can't do anything as a QB beyond ten yards down the field. And even then just under 60 percent accuracy. Sounds like another "QB" who was lighting it up until everyone realized he wasn't a real QB and adjusted as such. What was his name....... He plays for another bird team.

You’re not happy with a win? You guys crack me up. You whine and whine that the Eagles don’t run enough, but are mad when they actually do. Now you have the audacity to claim Wentz a QB, but you throw fits when the Eagles actually ask him to throw the ball. I’ll take the W with the RB playing quarterback over the "quarterback” that keeps giving the ball away and hurting his team.

I get what you’re saying but specifically RPO plays he didn’t get. Wentz got these rushes running for his life out of the gun or on his own by simply scrambling and eliminating the playcall. Foles had more RPO and he’s not even mobile

Not from RPO's. Wentz is not much of a runner in the RPO. Its the HB run or pass option he used the most in the past years. Usually it was a mid cross hit to Ertz or Goedert. His running this year was just no WRs open and he takes off.

We are happy to see the team win. We don’t have a problem with Carson lol we have a problem with trash qb play !

On to the next game Cardinals. Hurts will start after hurting the Saints. If they run the ball 34 times they will win. Please run the ball. IF Seattle beats the Washington football team then that could be something.

I guess it's hard to throw an interception when the ball didn't travel more than five yards in the air. Still knows how to fumble though huh?

Pretty sure that pretty back shoulder throw to Alshon for a TD with a defender bearing down on him and knowing he was gonna take a big hit...was over 5 yards. Carson would have just **** his pants and taken the sack.

Did you not even watch the game? Hurts made plenty of good, accurate throws. He got the ball out quick, and if he didn't have a man there he got out of the pocket and threw it away. I already knew he could run. The reason I'm excited about him is because he showed me a lot of things as a passer today, all things considered.

Enjoy them while they last cause it gets figured out really quickly.

Not true actually for all of them. Wentz has run the RPO. I distinctly remember one of his touchdowns was an RPO where he and the back ran into each other.

Yeah I've seen Carson take massive hits on TD passes before but nice try.

Overall, I'd say Hurts had an average day at QB. Considering it was his first NFL start, I'd say it was a good day for him. Positives were seeing the field, buying time and throwing it away when he had to, running vertically when nothing was there, and making throws for the most part with good accuracy. Negatives were a few bad throws, 1 fumble, and 1 pass that should have been picked but for a drop by the CB. Still, for a first time outing, it was good.

Cards have one key against us. They have a QB that plays the same way as Hurts so they might have an advantage on defense in their game planning. Should be interesting to watch.

Cant do anything beyond 10 yards, yet has hit multiple throws beyond 10 yards. OK.

Still you gotta play the hot hand. Carson would’ve never won this game he had many many chances to improve and he couldn’t get it done. Even if he is this RB you roll with it because they won the game. Simple as that. You continue to do with what works

I counted two throws today that I would call inaccurate. Other than that he threw the ball well. So not sure where all this "can only run" talk is coming from.

Yes he threw the ball well, his passes hit the receivers in stride, that's exactly what got Wentz benched, when he did have time he rewarded the OL with inaccurate throws.

Not only did he throw the ball well, his decision making was outstanding, decision making played a big role in the benching of Wentz.

I think Wentz is finished in Philadelphia......maybe in the NFL.

I thought you wanted Howie gone. You know a couple wins at the end saves him for sure right?

It was also against a top 3 defense.

Not every run by Hurts in this game was only RPO. There were plenty of times it wasn’t there and he just ran, he also threw it away when it wasn’t there he didn’t try something stupid like throw the ball against his body or into triple coverage. Carson has had some RPO plays this season. Here’s the irony though. You don’t think Doug and the Eagles have gone to Carson and asked him to run plays he’s comfortable with? You only think they did with everyone but Carson? Wow.

For some reason Doug doesn’t stick to Wentz’ strengths. How many times does wentz roll out of the pocket a game? That’s where he is great at. Doug doesn’t do that enough he keeps him in the pocket where he struggles. Yet we see Hurts roll out 80 percent of his snaps at least and he played better in the pocket. They are both mobile but for some reason Doug doesn’t use Wentz to his strengths. It shows me there’s something going on to where this organization is done with him

So you just take a 60 million dollar cap hit? Don't think so.

I meant as the starter for the Eagles, we'll keep him as a backup until we can unload him.
