Full game as a starter ?

Yes.

But it's not. And because of that he will be given ever opportunity to start next year.

I don't see Wentz starting ever again in Philadelphia barring an injury, Hurts is a better QB.

The game plan today matched the situation. There was no reason to try something else when what we did worked just fine. Hurts would be asked to throw more moving forward and his decisions today were pretty good.

I think Wentz' 2020 season is the "anomaly." I don't feel he should have been benched. I don't think, once that move is done, the team can ever go back to him as the franchise QB  without getting rid of the HC (Doug) and the replacement (Hurts). That is my opinion. The Eagles have to find a way to move him after this season. The contract could be a challenge. But put in the right situation, Wentz could once again compete for MVP. Wentz is one of my favorite players, but the only path to remaining an Eagle for him that I see, would be a major injury to Hurts, the Eagles somehow ending up in the playoffs this season, and Wentz winning a postseason game by playing at his 2017 level.

Strictly on the contract alone Wentz will be given ever opportunity to be the starter next year.

You pay him to be an expensive backup next season unless you can swindle Indy into a trade. Then cut him after next season.

That would be a 34 Million cap hit. The answer is still no. The team won't take that hit. You gotta wait another year after next and then maybe you can move on. Wentz will likely be here for 2 more seasons after this one ends.

Based on what? One game? That's a little quick. And once again then you pay someone 35 mil to sit on a bench. You can't do that in a salary cap league

hurts isn't exactly an elite pocket passer

I think he's gonna change you mind about that.

I was impressed with was how well he threw on the run, all of those passes were on the money

People really think they are going to pay him 35 mil to be a backup.

Cant do anything beyond 10 yards, yet has hit multiple throws beyond 10 yards. OK.

You just don't see the game like the knowledgeable Uscg.  Always the smartest guy in the room . Only if we knew football like him. After all this is the first year the rest of us started watching.

Not if you've already seen him play three seasons......

What if Wentz agrees to renegotiate his contract to open the door for a trade to a QB needy team (Indy)?

Not this year. And don’t move the goalposts. I replied to you saying he did nothing beyond 5 yards downfield. Eat the L on your statement being wrong or eat a D, I don’t care which.

He's good at changing the argument.

Not one game, his first game, he looked like veteran QB out there.

There's no need in compounding a mistake by starting Wentz just because a mistake was made to give him that kind of money, it's a "two wrongs doesn't make a right" thing.

I couldn’t watch this today, but I’m thrilled.

Hurts gives us a better chance to win because of our terrible line.  Carson used to be that guy, but injuries have taken that away from him a bit.  With Dillard / Brooks / Lane back it may be a different story.  Be happy for now, with a healthy line we may be back to Carson.

If they want their best chance to win they'll keep his arse on the bench.

And then when he gets figured out and doesn't look so great anymore we start a search all over again and kick ourselves because Wentz is tearing it up for whoever. We always always want a new QB.

You don't win using a substantial part of your salary cap to not even play.

What today showed me and what stats show me is that either Wentz or Doug need to go.  They clearly don’t work well together.  They will never work together. That relationship doesn’t work and we need to move on from one or both.

Chances are it'll be the same off target inaccurate passes with Dillard / Brooks / Lane back.

Yup, I thought he looked much more poised in the pocket than Wentz, Wentz in the pocket looks chaotic, hurts looks controlled.

I liked hurts in college he did remind me of Wilson and he was a winner in college, never did expect the eagles to draft him and now that he's starting I'm looking forward to him progressing forward, I think he can be a good passer, I think he's more than just a RB playing QB and I was done with Wentz a few weeks ago though I don't think his issues are all his fault.

I have no idea what they're going to do. In a normal circumstances where one didn't just give the starter who fell off a cliff 60 million guaranteed one just cuts bait, trade him for a slice of pie and go with hurts and develop him.

As is though  knows what they'll do.

What today showed me was that the Eagles are now picking 9th overall in April so they're out of range of any elite talent...as usual.

Line sure looked better with a qb who was willing to throw the ball away. Imagine what Hurts can do with a healthy o-line. I'm an eagles fan not Hurts or Wentz. I'm going with the eye test so far and we all know who that is pointing to. But one game doesn't define a player. I look forward to next week and exciting eagles football.

To me it's a no-brainer, Hurts gives you your best chance to win, hence, he's is your starting QB for the remainder of the season and going into training camp next year.

No Devonta Smith? Oh boy I'm super happy we won a meaningless game. Yippee.

I agree then what does one do with Wentz, a 35 million dollar backup doesn't help

I hope not. Who would want that twig of a WR on their team? How many Pinkstons does this team have to be cursed with?

Speaking of Devonta Smith, Reagor was a bad pick, I can't believe he could catch up with that pass on the left sideline, dude is slow!!
