35 million reasons......

How many coaches have to lose their job for that reason?

Well he hasn’t flat out bashed Wentz either and frankly Carson has been a big part of the problem this season. If Carson were killing it this season and the Eagles still lost that would be one thing, but every game the Eagles played this season with Carson as the starter the Eagles had the worst passer rating in the game. He’s be struggling terribly.

It started with me about the presser of favre’s comments about foles should’ve stayed and Doug respected the decision where it took 4 philly savages aka media to rephrase dougs opinions on wentz to acknowledge that wentz is his qb from here on out. There’s something that we don’t know that’s going on inside the locker room. Carson has been terrible no doubt and he deserves the bench but there’s more inside of the eagles to where Carson is received as a whole

I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear what Doug had to say but he needs to know, Hurts is the only person that can save his job.

I will give Doug credit, he called a pretty good game today, I was afraid that he was going to do the conserative thing by running on 1st and 2nd downs and passing on third and long, I've seen that many times with black QBs.

When the Eagles drafted Jalen, Doug was giddy about it. Jalen is skin color has nothing to do with this and Doug is not a racist. Let’s just end that speculation now.

So you’re saying play hurts and waste a mistake on a contract and make him the most overpaid backup in history? If Reich doesn’t pick up the contract this team won’t get better for a long time

So you're saying if you can't unload him play him over a better player just because dumbarse gave Wentz a contract he shouldn't have?

The contract is there, there's nothing you can do about that unless someone is willing to take him off of your hands........two wrongs don't make a right.

No I agree with you play the hot hand in Hurts but as the eagles FO they will play wentz because of the contract that they are stuck with. They’re gonna look at next year as a whole new phase especially if the o line is back together and healthy. They will start with that unless wentz continues to fail

Carson has a lot of power in the organization. He also has some pull with the owner. I think it took a lot to bench Carson and it wasn’t simply Doug’s decision. I keep hearing people say it, but I didn’t want to believe it though I do wonder about it. That is there’s a lot of RG3 type vibes with Wentz and the Eagles.

I never suggested that he was racist, I just know what I've seen in the past with black QBs, they're usually on a short leash.

So you think they are gonna go hey Carson it's ok go watch Netflix on the bench while we pay you 35 million?

That contract is no reason to play the inferior player.

Rule #1, put your best players on the field.

You can't make this crap up. One average game and you think he is gonna get 35 million next year. Lmao. They can't even negotiate with him on anything for a few years. Rookie contract.  My god. Lol

I meant that I will imagine that he's getting paid the money to start that Wentz will be making sitting on the bench. :) he still makes his rookie contract dollars in reality

Talk to Howie. They won’t continue to sit Wentz with the money they gave him, they’re gonna play him until they find a way to get rid of him even if they have to eat the contract.

Hurts should start! He deserves to be on the field but this organization is something else until they find a way to save money and cap space

That would be a dumbarse decision but I guess that's compatible with Howie.

Is this the offense Doug wants to run?

Are we going full Baltimore type offense?

Will Doug stay committed to the run even when it’s not working like the Ravens do?

Will Hurts be able to run 12-15 times a game and make it through a season?

Is Hurts going to have a fumbling problem which will be very bad if he is counted on to run the ball 10+ times a game?

From what I saw from Hurts he can be a solid QB if not asked to beat teams with his arm. He is a smart run first type QB. Is that what Doug and the Franchise wants? This off-season is going to be very interesting.

I mentioned someplace else that if the Eagles use Reagor the way they did today more often it still could end up really well. We might end up with a Percy Harvin type player. I could live with that.

As long as he doesn’t have Harvin’s issues.

No one knew Carson had a concussion except Carson. No one realized it was even a bad hit until after the fact. People were shocked he went into the locker room. He told everyone he wasn’t right and that’s why he got checked out. Look Ronnie Lott cut his finger off to stay in a game. Back in the day people used to hide their concussions to stay in games. It was his first playoff game and he came out of it. The old machismo way I could understand why anyone would be upset with Carson for pulling himself, but knowing what we know today about concussions the mentality is stupid. Carson did the right thing pulling himself. Frankly Josh McCown should have left that game too with his injury.

There was a report that he couldn't remember who they played the week before or even manage to sit properly. They had to call his wife to the locker room because he was in such bad shape.

There is no way Carson chose to sit out. Don't let 2020 cloud your judgement.

Hurts will be fine, Wentz will be fine. Sell high, one of them at some point. No rush. And the cap hit for Wentz is $29 million.

This has nothing to do with 2020, and I’m stating (if what I heard was true) Carson did the right thing. I commend him for not risking further injury.

I can agree with that!

Foles recently went on record to give credit to Reich to adjust the offense to his strengths when he replaced Wentz in 2017.

I wonder who pull those strings for Hurts, and why it’s so hard to do it for Carson.

You was top 5 pick? I never heard of you. Was it drugs? Injuries? A really low score on the Wonderlic test?

I’ll give your post a like if you are that desperate for one...

now you are at +13. Great job kid

I actually find this pretty ridiculous.  I wasn't shocked at all, I expected him to be hurt because it was a premeditated helmet to helmet spear shot right to the back of his head with full body weight thrown into it with the intent to injure.  What I WAS shocked about was the fact that there was no penalty, ejection, or fine even though a referee was standing 10 feet away and watched the entire thing...in a league supposedly concerned about player safety!

Doug hasn’t backed wentz to the point where a coach should. No one on this organization is truly locked in on wentz

Huh? Riding with him through 12 games when he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn? Doug has been ride or die with Wentz. Did you see tonight's press conference? It looked like the final scene of Old Yeller and Doug looks like he's the one responsible for putting Wentz down.

Doug stuck with Wentz so long it put his own job at risk. People were doubting the guy who out coached Belichick in the super bowl and brought us our first Lombardi. I appreciate Doug's loyalty to Carson but he had no choice but to make the move he made.

When you wreck your car, don't have insurance, and still have a payment. That's the only time you have to stick with damaged goods.

And the Eagles have a history of not doing that.  Peters, Jeffrey, Gerry

A few years ago, Foles would come in and magically the offense moved down the field with quick decisive throws. Yesterday the offense magically moved down the field with quick decisive throws.

Why do people assume that Doug was changing the playbook in order to hurt Carson and not realize that Carson was always the problem?
