Was only watching over here on Redzone and retired at half time.

So I need some help here.

All this back and forth between various posters about which QB should play is all well and good.

But what I really want to know is,  did Payton whine and cry when defeat was inevitable ?

Pictorial evidence would be nice, too 😁

The offseason is going to be real interesting around here. So many questions need answering and quickly. In the end bringing back Wentz, Doug, and Hurts would be a mistake. I don’t think Doug and Carson can really coexist anymore, and Carson could never function with Hurts waiting in the wings. Of course if Hurts leads this team to wins in these final games how do you even go back to Carson?

And thats the real scary part because I believe Doug WANTS to go back to Carson....even if we see Hurts progressing each game. Its a nightmare what Howie has created here....

What’s looking like a nightmare is giving Wentz that big contract.

I don’t understand Doug’s hesitation here. How can he possibly be considering going back to Wentz after what we just saw? Can he not see that the energy of the entire team was different with Hurts in there?

Or maybe he knows he’s going with Hurts and just doesn’t want to say publically until he talks to Carson to let him know directly that Jalen is getting the start again next week.

He knows.  But Doug is a terrible liar.

Totally agreed. The entire team, both offense and defense, was suddenly fun and exciting to watch on a Sunday afternoon. I hope its the latter: he doesn't want to say pubicly that Hurts is starting again....

Yes he did many times.  Whined to the refs on calls that went against him, and looked upset when the Eagles made plays at times when they showed him.

He also took his mask off when he got close to a player to speak to him, which is funny because they got fined and lost a 7th round draft pick for not wearing masks when celebrating in the locker room.

Excellent, thanks for that NOTW.

Can't beat a good old Payton sideline meltdown .

There's no reason Hurts shouldn't get the start next week. Eagles won, and even if they didn't, Hurts didnt Hurts the team and provided a spark in offense.

Not only sparked the offense, but helped the defense out by actually sustaining drives to give them plenty of rest between drives.

All the 3 and outs early in games just kills the defense by halftime.

I don’t know, but if they play Wentz just cause he’s paid when Hurts is clearly the better option they will lose the locker room. That’s why I don’t think both should be back. No way Wentz functions with Hurts waiting in the wings, and Wentz on the bench making that coin is an eyesore. One has to go.

His team with Wentz only won the games they did, because they beat struggling football teams. His team just banded together behind a quarterback that moved the football for them. His play helped the offense and defense. Dougi isn’t going back to Carson. He can’t even justify a move like that at this point.

I’m not worried about Doug going to Carson. He’s just trying to walk on egg shells the best he can.

1st of all.... that's freeking funny and creative as he**. 2nd, why am I now staring at my Wentz jersey....differently after this.... only thing is- you need an S at the end, not the Z.  😆

I think we are getting to the point of why you have 2 QBs. Carson taking punishment like this for 12 weeks has worn him down and changed him psychologically to where he is putting himself in situations to get hurt. Now  the team is healthier and Hurtz is fresh, but would he have lasted the same 12 weeks?

I'm starting to think its not either/or but having both.

LMAO this came across my timeline on an Eagles group and I just had to share it in here....

Wow Dan Klecko just dropped a bombshell on the radio. He just said there were certain people in the Eagles organization that were a little upset with Wentz taking himself out of that playoff game. That’s actually very messed up if it’s true.

Dan should have given that more thought. If a QB is concussed, and doesn't hide it, and tells the coach his brain is scrambled, he just helped the team more than hiding it and playing with a concussion. Playing with a concussion is not only dangerous, but how the he** does a QB, who has to think very quickly and constantly, even play a decent game?? If the "certain people" were real, then shame on THEM- they should be let go for being absolutely stupid AND heartless. End of story.

Doug and Carson don’t mix one has to go bottom line. I don’t care about finances one has to go. Clearly Doug wants to play one way but that way doesn’t fit Carson strengths.  So it is needed to move on from one bottom line.

I have been wanting accountability- especially getting to the root of these issues, and the root, once found, becomes accountable- to the point of being fired, benched, whatever. I will say this on Doug's behalf- he helped coach a QB (Foles) to WIN a Super Bowl by playing to his strengths. Has Doug played to Wentz's strengths, or is he forcing Wentz to play a style that doesn't fit him at all?

I'm not sure what we are seeing here. Did the type of plays we just saw Hurts get mirror the type of plays Foles got? RPO's, which were actually effective? I'm not sure yet. These "college" type plays beat teams like the Saints and Patriots. So why they are called "simple type plays" is beyond me- they work and beat not just good teams, but great teams. The plays Doug called for Foles and Hurts worked. Games against tough, playoff quality teams were won. The plays he calls for Carson don't work right. Who is at fault here? Should Carson or Doug adjust? Is Doug calling the same plays and Carson just sucks at this style? Are they different plays than he called for Foles and Hurts? Carson is looking like the odd man out, here. Either Doug gets fired, or Carson is moved due to a lack of matching the ability to adjust to the coaches scheme. I'm confused by it and can't get to the root of it. Unless you get to the root, you can't resolve the issue. Hopefully, the Eagles org finds the root and deals with it properly.

Wordy, I know. Just letting the confusion out.

I guess it's hard to throw an interception when the ball didn't travel more than five yards in the air. Still knows how to fumble though huh?

Still better than Wentz with his patented overthrows, wormburners, tryhard sacks, changing Doug's call at the LOS and abject failure of being able to read defenses 5 years in...

I remember hearing before Carson didn’t want to run any of those "Foles plays” so I think it’s a factor. No one can get me to believe that Doug nor Carson’s buddy Taylor would willingly run plays Carson doesn’t want to run. People are ASSuming Doug is a bad coach because Carson looks like a bad quarterback until he’s out there running around and doing his own thing. That was something he was much more capable of doing prior to all the injuries. Now that he needs to operate within the offense he can’t function properly. Here is something to think about. Doug is 11-3 to include 4 playoff wins and a super bowl victory without Carson. His highest win total for a season with Carson is 11wins. Their average win total together for a season is roughly 9 wins (8.75) a year. What is so great about this? Why are we so obsessed about a quarterback that averages 9 wins a season, has no playoff wins, and was injured in his first playoff game? Why is the guy who won the Super Bowl with a backup quarterback the one that stinks when the quarterback who supposed to be the greatest of all time has one double digit win season?

Talk to Howie. They won’t continue to sit Wentz with the money they gave him, they’re gonna play him until they find a way to get rid of him even if they have to eat the contract.

I don't give a rat's arse how much Wentz is making. Better player needs to play, period. If Wentz wants to play, he needs to beat Hurts. Simple as that.

This would be so stupid. Giving job back to Wentz would reinforce his bad play and show it's okay.

I don't care if Wentz don't want to run those plays. He's not coach, Doug is. If Wentz doesn't want to plays that make him play great, he deserved to be benched just for that.

I start to think they are willing to bench him for a year, while Hurts is on a cheap rookie contract.

But then I think that they are indeed fine with that will just end up netting us a first round pick for him. Maybe after weeks of discussing Pats or Colts someone nobody expected comes along and does it... Vikings again? 😂

Because you post rants, and then do not respond to people who post facts that clearly show your opinion is wrong.

I will ask one of my questions again. A question you have ducked 3 times now.

How is Pederson helping Wentz with a run pass ration of 25:75 during the last 4 games he started.  Why is the best QB in the NFL on the move only having 6 designed roll outs called over those same 4 games ??

And would you look at that, I ask the question again, and @gameshowfan91 goes MIA as usual.

Maybe because defenses stop run and feel like pass is what we need to do to set up run and without being successful with the pass, teams will know they can stop run. Also, Wentz needs to help himself.
