Please, Don't Go WR in Round One!

If LB Kenneth Murray falls to us, we HAVE  to take him. WR is deep as hell this year, so we can get a GOOD player as deep as round three. Besides, it's unlikey that the rookie starts, unless either DJax or Jeffery is traded. LB on the other hand has a scarce handful of players that can help us as three down players. We already have a bunch of quasi-Safeties. Beyond maybe round two, all that's left is more tweeners and guys who get exposed in coverage.

LB might be the least important position in football today other than punter and kicker. no way in hell I’m passing on a WR for a linebacker.

Also last I heard Alshon won’t even be fully recovered from his injury by the time the season starts. So yeah the rookie WR would start day one.

When does Howie ever stick with his pick? Never. Hes moving from 21. the question is will it be up or down. But I would bet on him moving out of 21 just by many many past years of trading out.

I think LB is a bit deeper this year than credited. Murray is a heat seeking missile, but I can get Malik Harrison, Willie Gay, Jordyn Brooks, Logan Wilson, or [insert other name you like here] in the second or third. All of which project as potential quality starters while retaining my first round pick.

And especially in this scheme and with this DC. I couldn't think of anything less appealing than going LB in the first.

We use a ton of Nickel Big. Now with Will Parks he is more then likely your sub LB right now.

You could say we do need a LB since we do use 1 in a nickel. We have a few but none that are the future. Next year though we could see a change in DC and scheme so LB might be important then.

Only way I would take Murray is if we dont trade up for a top WR, and no good trade back offers sticking us with 21. Murray or the safety McKinney would be my choices if picking at 21 the top 4 wrs are gone.

Other wise Im waiting till rounds 3 or 4 to grab a LB.

"WR is deep as hell" got us Jordan Matthews and Josh Huff.

And "RB is deep as hell” got us Pumphrey.

At least they did not go another slot WR like Jefferson.

Precisely! I mean I like Jefferson a lot but ultimately he is a slot receiver.
