But some people believe it has to be some conspiracy about the election...  Government does far more than elect politicians, but that's all some people see. He's more concerned about how to install himself as leader for life, whether he is going to leave peacefully or where he is going to live after the presidency.  He hasn't given one ounce of thought to any policy or security matter since Nov 3 and arguably very little even before that.

I was reading about this last night. Trump was briefed on it earlier in the week and didn't show one ounce of giving a damn.

The hackers got in through an update for the Solar Winds software, which is crazy because we are all told to update programs to keep from getting hacked.

Also this wasn't any random hack. They said the hackers that got in were very meticulous and knew what specific info they wanted.

Trump is so concerned about the Russian Hack it has left him speechless.

I said communism.   We have to be worried about ALL foreign powers that could be our adversaries -- but their system of gov't isn't necessarily the issue.  It is how they act in the world or not and how they interact with us.  The whole "communism" or "socialism" thing is a stupid GOP scare word.   We aren't going communist or socialist here.   But the GOP pretends that is what dems want, in order to scare people.   That's my point.   

And I'm all over SolarWinds - I work in data privacy.  So the Russians are making me busier right now.  Not that I need to be.

Standard Operating Procedure for Trump.   He doesn't care about anything that doesn't directly impact him personally.  And he cares less about governing now in these last few weeks - if he ever cared at all.

Yes, it was pretty sophisticated. They knew how to get in, take all the info they wanted, and get out without being detected. Not many organizations have the ability to pull off an attack like this, that's why they think it's GRU.

russia is communism and we absolutely need to worry about their system of government as it helps dictate their policies. including their cyber-spy activities.
