January 8, 20214 yr Howie doesn't necessarily need to be fired. He just needs to give up final say on personnel decisions, especially when it comes to running the draft.

He needs to be fired. He put this roster together, he put the team in this cap mess. Keeping him around does no good.

March 6, 20214 yr One more horrible analytics draft in April followed by a 4-12 season and Howie will be back ordering jock straps and t shirts. On 2/28/2021 at 1:06 PM, EagleVA said: Sounds like Donald Trump and we know he was a jackarse. Moments are fleeting...

Can't blame him for 40% of the offensive line starters going down before the season even started. Can't blame him for Johnson and Driscoll gong down. Maybe blame him for bringing back Peters, but wasn't that what the entire city and media was lobbying for. Can we blame Howie that Peters and Lurie have a relationship that has made Peters a prima donna? Can't blame him for the loss that's on the kicker. Cant blame him for Wentz' regression. Maybe we can blame him for DeSean disappointing again, but weren't we all on board when he was resigned. Can't blame him for Pederson's aversion to playing and developing young players - watch other teams, their rookies play. Can't blame him for Ertz having an awful year when he's on the field. Can't blame him for Reagor going down. When premium draft picks that were highly rated by consensus throughout the league and draft community don't pan out is it the GM's fault of the coaching staff's? Why has everyone forgotten their love affair with Joe Douglas who was primarily responsible for the 2018 and 2019 drafts - i.e. JJAW instead of Metcalf Is it Howie fault Pederson has hired terrible offensive coaches like Press Taylor Our picks were not highly rated. Reagor was seen as a mid to late 2nd rounder, a punt returner will limited route running/separation/ball tracking skills. Hurts had a 3rd/4th round grade and was projected as a decent back up or lowly rated starter. The 3rd round LB barely played any football. Q) What do you call a LB who can't play at all? A) A developmental LB. He'll bust for sure. I liked the Driscoll pick and have hopes for the 4th round safety, but he couldn't get on the field even though everyone else got hurt. Bad sign. The 5th rounder Hightower showed he can't play. The 6th round WR has some potential in the slot. Both the 6th & 7th rounder were cut and claimed by other teams. Grade D 4th lousy draft in a row.
March 6, 20214 yr this is easy. Roseman does NOT need to be fired, however, drafting decisions should go to someone well skilled in the ability to properly evaluate talent, with input from the head coach. Howie is great at a lot of things. Just keep him away from the draft board.

Don't forget, 5 players will be drafted before we are on the clock (unless we trade up). I'm sure we will have all 5 of those players on our draft board and really like them.

It's so perfectly Lurie that when I read it, I heard his voice.
