But he said he was being sarcastic the next day, so it's all good.

He's either unaware that there are some questions that are best posited away from the cameras, or he forgets where he is. Either way, his mind is clearly on the downslope. For the sake of the nation (and for his own sake, honestly), it's time to put him out to pasture.

That's why we should have investigations into the response, which was my original point, to see where the failures happened and put ourselves in a position to not let that happen again. It's clear that some of those failures came from the top and were the result of hubris/poor judgement (and there's only one remedy for that), but the rest of them should be looked into as well, so that the next administration can streamline the process and avoid the same mistakes.

I have no doubt what went through his mind right before he said that was something like "Hey i bet these scientists never thought about this solution before!
